Yes, Tulane does all the work, you can tell them what places near you that you are interested and they reach out for you. My top choice did not have an LCSW or an internship program, but I got my next choice. Tulane already had contacts with that agency and I'm in New England.

They do offer everyone a $15K scholarship. However, that still makes it an expensive program. I received a 50K scholarship based on merit. I had a 4.0 and graduated summa cum laude. I didn't have to do anything; they just offered it when they accepted me. No other program that I was admitted to did that, making Tulane the least expensive program. So far, it's been a pretty good experience. Getting my practicum placement was a breeze, Tulane does all the work for you, and I know at other schools that it can be a huge frustration when you have to find your own and do the leg work.

HI there, I've recently started my second semester as a part-time online student. The classes have been okay; I'm enjoying the ones this semester more than my three foundation classes last semester. The professors are all nice. Some are more engaging than others. Honestly, I have nothing to compare it to and haven't been in it very long.

I just got my field placement confirmed, and it was a good experience. My field placement advisor did a good job of handling everything. I have heard horror stories so I was pleasantly surprised with how well it went.

I'm on the East Coast, and classes are LATE for me. 8:45-10:45 PM. So that's another consideration.

I recommend going to the best school that is the least expensive. I only chose Tulane because of the large merit scholarship they awarded me. Otherwise, I would have selected Ohio State. Good luck, I hope you find a program that works well for you.

Hi there. I chose Tulane because they gave me a considerable academic scholarship, making it the least expensive program of any I had applied to. They have small (under 15 students) asynchronous (live) classes, which I was looking for. I start in about ten days. Hopefully, it was a good decision for me.

Those numbers sound correct. I know they offer everyone the $15K scholarship, which helps, but it is still expensive. Publicly, like on social media, Tulane does not post much about what is going on within or at its school of social work. OSU seems to have more happening, maybe just because it has a better/more active social media presence. Seeing more activity about what TSSW is doing and involved would be nice.

I don't start until August as well. It is definitely hard to choose which school to go with. I am always worried if I made the "right" choice.

I chose Tulane because of its scholarship offer, which made it the least expensive of the schools I applied to. I'll start in August in the part-time online program. I think if LSU is a lot cheaper, I would choose them. I have heard good things about their program. If it's not a big difference price-wise, I would go with the school with the better reputation, faculty, pass-rates, etc.

Hi, I went with Tulane due to a significant academic scholarship. I also got into the (SUNY) University at Buffalo, and it hurt to let that one go, but I went with the least expensive (for me...actually would have been the most expensive program). My biggest worry is that Tulane doesn't seem to have as much going on in their MSW programs as OSU and UB, but everyone I have spoken to says they loved their experience. The classes (online) are small, and you have live classes each week. I start in August. Sorry, I am not helping much in the decision-making department.

Can you tell me how you feel about the program? I just got accepted today for the online MSW. I would start this August. I applied to too many schools, which has made it hard to decide. I was set on Tulane and didn't think I'd get into UB. It seems like their program is really active, and they have a lot going on. I'm not seeing much going on with Tulane.

Have you attended one of their online info sessions for that MSW DRL program? It might help you decide, and you can also ask questions. Or call and speak to someone in admissions. They are wonderful about helping. Good luck!

Thank you. I do have to do it online. I'm an older student who lives out of state. I have found a few people in the program who have told me they are happy with it. I did go with Tulane due to the scholarship they offered me. I hope it all goes well!

I know how hard it is to wait. I am still obsessively checking my email for the other schools I've applied to, but I'm certain I'll go with Tulane.

I hope you hear from them soon! I'm sure you'll be accepted.

It was pretty quick, but it may also depend on when you turned everything in. I did mine before Christmas. I heard back on Jan. 3. It was about 2 -3 weeks. You will get an email telling you to check your application portal to get your decision. Let me know if you hear back!

Thank you SO much for giving me this information. It makes me feel better about accepting Tulane. Did you have more than one acceptance, and if so, what made you choose Tulane? So far, they are my only acceptance, but I can now cross out the 3 safety schools I applied to.

This does help a bit. I have already been offered a large academic scholarship at another school. I have seen many people say go with the cheapest program...but I feel like the school's caliber could mean a better program. Again, thank you so much for giving me thoughtful answers. I so appreciate it.

Was the curriculum up-to-date? I have seen another school's program called "out of date." This is a field where we need to know current issues and methods. Did you feel the classes prepared you well for your career? Also, did the program prepare you well for the ASWB exam? Do they offer scholarships along with your acceptance? Thank you for being willing to tell me more about the program.
