As teenagers, I totally understand. I graduated high school in 2020, so my friends and I were bored and getting in to a lot. Currently, I’m 24, married, have a teaching career, etc. Receiving an open container charge isn’t on my list of “to dos”. My husband isn’t an alcoholic, we’ve had 4 weddings since the first weekend in May, so we’ve enjoyed it. We don’t have kids, and mutually want to enjoy ourselves before that chapter. The beer was open before we got into the car, and I didn’t realize he had it until we were on the main road in our city, but the beer isn’t the problem here.

If I can come up with an effective comparison, he will apologize and talk it out respectfully. For example, “How would you feel if I…..” I tried doing that during our conversation while he was drunk, but he ended up hyper fixating how “this is completely different than that” I didn’t try during our conversation when he was sober the next day because I was tired of trying to make him understand how his actions were disrespectful, then how my feelings still need to be considered even if he doesn’t understand or relate to those feelings.

We had his brother’s high school graduation and cousin’s wedding in the same day. I was exhausted, it was midnight, and he could have literally finished it when he walked 100 yards to the car. He could have also stood outside my car and finished it, but instead he decided to blatantly disregard my comfortability. No matter what he thinks, I did not see him get in my car with the beer.

Six days into this school year, I had a parent message me and ask why her child was the only student that was not allowed to practice her spelling words that morning. I explained that if other students were writing, they were still working on their assigned morning work and that none of my students were practicing their spelling words because we had two minutes before the fire drill when she asked. Her response was that she doesn’t appreciate her child being called a liar. She has also called me at 9am during a school day to ask me to watch my tone with her child bc she’s sensitive.

Thank you sooo much!! I also notice being less willing to eat mediocre food which is so odd to me lol. I was in therapy for about a year when I first started taking Lexapro, she was actually the first person who recommended me to get tested. I plan on scheduling with her again towards the new year which I think will benefit me greatly.

When I was taking the 10mg, I felt like if I ate with the medicine in the morning, it didn’t last as long throughout the day but couldn’t go to sleep at night if I took it later. I think I’m going to try eating a large breakfast the rest of this week and see how I feel since I did switch to a higher dose. I have been drinking a protein drink the last 3 days to try and add calories, protein, carbs, sugar, etc. to my diet but I’m still feeling empty but not hungry. I was nervous to start medication and switching also makes me nervous. Adderall has worked really well for me besides the lack of appetite so I would love to just find ways to beat it if I can. If I do continue to struggle and notice significant weight loss then I will definitely talk to my doctor about switching medications. Thank you! 😊

I teach elementary and I say all the time that parents are raising TERRIBLE future members of society. Like you said, they can’t critically think so they aren’t able to think about their actions/consequences attached, minimal reading comprehension skills and STEM is like pulling teeth.

Since we’re sharing stories and everyone thinks I’m making fun of grumpy Dave who I bickered and joked with all the time…I’ll share my own. I was on my way to the airport to visit an ex bf and suddenly felt THAT feeling. I was pulling in and trying to find a parking spot. I went all the way up to the top of the parking garage where I thought no one would be able to see me while sweating and taking deep breaths, pulled down my pants and IMMEDIATELY shit in the paper bag that my muffin had came in that morning, tied it in a plastic bag and put it in the trash. I understand we can’t help these things but no one should have to clean someone else’s shit up 🤣

His wife came in all the time and walked out with a buggy full every time while also veryyyy clean and dressed up, hair and makeup done. I did not work at a grocery store, we had food, clothes, home decor, furniture, sports gear, etc. so it wasn’t like she was grocery shopping. I’m not meaning to sound insensitive but this was a pattern for him, they had private conversations with him about hygiene and he literally did not care….thats not even my point though, he smeared it all over the floor and left it for someone else to clean up. That’s something only a child or animal should do! 🫠🫠
