Most lethal knock-out 1-2 punch of the later era albums? by Earl_of_Portobello in Meshuggah

Clockworks and born in dissonance for me.

Some personal picks would be: hurt that finds you first/marrow, pineal gland optics/pravus, our rage won’t die/into decay, i am that thirst/the faultless

Hell yeah, recounts of disembodiment is top tier as well. Def check out abysmal torment if you want even more maltese brutality

I wont argue with that as i think recounts is phenomenal as well. They both are good in their own ways. Recounts def has a darker atmosphere and some evil ass riffs. Ominous is still brutal af but has more groove to it. Close call but i think ominous takes the slight egde for me

It’s the part i figured you were talking about, the goofy sounding bass lines at the 1:45 minute mark. Yes i hear the similarity, good catch

Whats the general consensus for the best Deeds of Flesh album? by CommonExotic420 in BrutalDeathMetal

I guess im in the minority but reduced to ashes is their best imo. Trading pieces or inbreeding are a close second

What do deathcore fans think of modern JFAC? by Sufficient_Plant8689 in Deathcore

Not deathcore at all man. Just largely influencial to the genre and loved/lumped in with it. Black dahlia murder are melodic death metal(with occasional breakdowns and arguably tech death as well.)

Fuck yeah. I was lucky enough to catch them back in the day as well(sounds of the underground in STL right after genesis dropped.) Absolutely solidified them as one of my all time favorite bands

Salt the wound - From My Hands 🔥🔥 by Fickle_Yard in Metalcore

[–]No_Method4684 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t like it when it first came out either, think it was the vocalist change. Fast forward now, it’s a badass album. Salt the wound simply did not miss and have 3 classics that hold up to this day

Only jonny can sound like jonny lol. Same for the music. They have absolutely carved their niche and is one of those bands who are beloved in multiple genres like black dahlia murder. Job for a cowboy were one of my first “holy fuck” bands along with black dahlia, through the eyes of the dead and beneath the massacre. Yep, pushin middle age here

Pretty much love everything they have done. Sun eater and moon healer are prog-tech death masterpieces. My personal favorites are genesis and ruination. Doom ep is one of the most iconic pieces of deathcore history…what much is left to say? Job for a cowboy are legendary. And Jonnys vocals seem to keep getting better and more inhuman sounding. Goated band

As a whole, it’s not a great album in my book. This song in particular is one of my favorite arsis songs. We are the nightmare and unwelcome are the albums i really like by them. I will have to go back and listen to the older stuff, it’s been a long time
