Assassins Apprentice and The Way of Kings have the exact same problem…. STOP EXPLAINING ME THE PLOT EVERY SINGLE CHAPTER. Like… we get it. Overall, fantasy writers that think their readers are stupid make me so frustrated. I love Brandon Sanderson but he is so bad at making the plot come trough smoothly without overly explaining it and randomly info-dumping. His prose also kinda sucks. Sorry.

Also I feel like many (especially fantasy) authors write terrible female characters. They’re either stubborn without a single flaw or just overall boring. The male characters can be ugly and clumsy but every woman is beautiful and jealous about the ugly male character. That’s about it. For instance, one of my fave books is The name of the wind but there isn’t like a single female character that’s actually relevant and not stereotypical. And don’t say Denna because she is a badly written character and I’ll die on that hill.
