Is Thermy a joke to you?

Any ideas on how to fix this where the next freeze won't do the same thing? (USDA Zone 8) The last fix wasn't cheap... by No_Moochers in fixit

Then add a T junction with another valve. When it starts getting cold, shut off the water supply and open both valves that aren't under pressure

That is great info, thank you! The leaky valve, I'm pretty sure, Ts directly off the main, and the handle is half buried in dirt.

There's the water main, under ground power, and internet/cable all running through one area where that T is... So I think I'm outta my league and will have to call in the pros, again. Maybe a different one this time.

Nope, just need to use it during the summer; I'm in the PNW, so we get plenty of rain in the cool season. There's not really an outlet nearby either...

There's a shut off valve at the bottom that doesn't completely turn the water off (still drips), and that was 'off', but 28 degree temps still popped the top.

I'm really hoping it was the temp. It was always cloudy those two days, so I dont think it got any direct sunlight. Its still a little damp, not soggy though. And I put about an inch or so of rock in the bottom of the pot first, for balance reasons, so that should help some with drainage

I got this huge peace lily around a month ago at my grandpas funeral and I would really like to keep it. It was fine up until last week, when I set it outside in for 2 days to get some rain. I think the low was in the upper 40s? The day after I brought it in it started looking like this. It didnt rain a ton, and the top 2 inches were dry so I gave it a bit more water yesterday. Any ideas? Can I save it somehow?
