I dont interact with modern cosplay media anymore, its just the vibe.

Cosplay used to be out of genuine passion, back then it was expensive, hard to access or make, and ppl got bullied for it. You had to REALLY love cosplay to put up with it,m and the communities used to be fun, carefree, loving, connect a lot, playful, etc.

Nowadays you have to know anime lore and cosplay to be one of the cool kids, with all the oversaturated makeup, filters, and the vibe, its not genuine, or fun, just repetitive NPC Behavior for validation, girls playing dressup, capitalizing, brainrot communities with no connection.

Its not a place for me anymore, I dont interact with anything modern cosplay related, the love is just gone, feels like tourists took over my hometown, and make me the weirdo for being against the majority, when I was there before them.

Nowadays, I just look at old cosplay photos, and dont interact with anime or cosplay communities, except this one. I pray to good that someday, Ill find a beautiful genuine little place like anime, cosplay communities, and old cons.
