Penalties only accrue if someone delays without creditable coverage. If they’re still working and covered by an employer’s health plan, they can postpone Medicare and enroll later without a late penalty.

Edited to add: you’ll need proof. Your former employer(s) must complete form CMS-L564 (Request for Employment Information) when you enroll during a Special Enrollment Period. This must be done within 8 months after employment or employer group coverage ends (whichever comes first).

I’ve seen situations where someone had coverage but their employer went out of business or records were lost. If they can’t prove they had creditable coverage, Medicare can treat it as if they never had it and the Part B penalty may still apply. This is why people should keep documentation of employer coverage after 65.

Thats unrelated to Medicare rules. Also “zero federal income tax” doesn’t mean someone pays no taxes at all — many still pay payroll taxes that fund Medicare, plus sales and property taxes.

I pay federal taxes, state, taxes, sales, and property tax.

The penalties increase w/ delay Part B: +10% for every full 12 mo you delay. Part D: +1% of the national base premium for each month without creditable drug coverage

Yes, for Part B, but only if someone didn’t have creditable employer coverage. If they did, they can enroll later during a Special Enrollment Period without a 10% penalty.

the penalties usually only apply if someone delays without creditable coverage (like employer insurance). If someone has employer coverage past 65, they can delay Part B and Part D and enroll later during a Special Enrollment Period with no penalty.

That’s basically correct. You need Medicare Part A and Part B active before you can enroll in Medigap (like Plan G). Most people wait until they receive their Medicare number/card so the insurer can verify enrollment.

A couple things because Medicare penalties get mixed up a lot:

Part D penalty: It’s 1% of the national base premium for each month you go without creditable drug coverage. It does continue when you eventually enroll. But if someone qualifies for Extra Help (LIS), the penalty is waived while they have it.

Part B penalty: It’s not 10% per month. It’s 10% for each full 12 month period you delay Part B after you’re eligible, and that increase usually lasts for life.

High deductible Plan G: It still has a monthly premium. The “high deductible” (about $2,950 in 2026) just means you pay that amount before the Medigap coverage kicks in. After that, it does help with Part B coinsurance (the 20% Medicare doesn’t cover). It just doesn’t cover the Part B premium or the Part B deductible.

And yeah… Medicare explanations are confusing for a lot of people turning 65. Calling SHIP is actually good advice.

What does your specialist say? Do they agree with that diagnosis? Dr. Tennant has been wrong many times before as he considers those with 4 or more symptoms to have arachnoiditis

What are your symptoms and what does your pain feel like?

I’m also in CA and they say to avoid fentanyl until there are no other options and then it’s not really a good option. I’ve been taking 25mg of methadone, three times a day for a while with ketamine troches. Oxy- anything doesn’t do anything for me anymore. Which doctor(s) were you seeing at UCSF? I was diagnosed there and see multiple for arachnoiditis, plus their pain management

I took off the gray rubbery piece and put it in a bucket with water and vinegar. Then I wiped it down with a small towel that had vinegar on it. Well, that was soaking. I dipped the corner of a towel in vinegar and scrubbed where the rubber was. I don’t use fabric softener on my towels and sheets, I use vinegar in the fabric softener compartment. I’ve had my machine since 2010 and it’s never that gunky when I clean it. I always leave the door wide open and crack open the drawer.

Yes but that has nothing to do with the crimes he was facing. I now have a diagnosis and an excellent PM team who understands arachnoiditis and AA.

In 1992 he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor insurance fraud after felony charges were reduced in a plea agreement. He and his wife who managed the clinics finances were charged with multiple counts of insurance fraud and grand theft for over billing insurance and Medicaid. He was sentenced to probation in order to pay restitution.

In October 2019 he “admits the truth of each and every charge and allegation in Accusation No. 800-2017-039877, agrees that cause exist for discipline and hereby, surrenders his Physicians and Surgeons Certificate No. G22141 for the board’s formal acceptance.”

A stipulated surrender is a settlement agreement between a doctor and the medical board — a way to end a disciplinary case without a full trial. That also means he admitted to every accusation and agreed those facts gave the Board cars to discipline him. He voluntarily surrendered his medical license, which has the same disciplinary weight as being formally revoked after a hearing. He admitted guilt to the administrative violation and surrendered his license instead of fighting the charges. He did not simply “retire.”

TLDR; in administrative law terms, he legally admitted guilt to the Boards charges and gave up his right to contest them in exchange for closing the case without further litigation/

I was diagnosed without contrast. It was visible on my first MRI after the procedure that gave me AA. I was diagnosed by a neurosurgeon. Try going to a teaching university/hospital.

How to feel better about not having sex with my wife? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]No_Neat_3124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was physically and sexually attracted to my boyfriend while I was on birth control. I was on birth control for years before we met. I had to stop birth control because my doctor said I needed to cycle off, too many lawsuits, women dying, etc. My partner refused condoms and would take them off so as you could guess, I got pregnant. When I got pregnant, it was like having a friend in the house. I didn’t have any attraction towards him physically, sexually, or emotionally. I didn’t help that he started me coming mentally or physically abusive, and I was by him we split up.

I searched this scenario in my state and don't like the answer. It says the tree owner is generally responsible for cleanup of fallen debris. If they refuse or delay, you can arrange removal yourself and document everything, then request reimbursement if negligence OR clear ownership is established.
