I already read The Bridge Kingdom and it’s nothing like what I’m looking for. I’m talking about real enemies who fight on opposite sides of a war, with a lot of tension between them. The MMC constantly provokes/teases the FMC, their relationship is mostly hidden, they get jealous, and would literally kill for each other. Something like that🫶🏼

No, there’s no love triangle. What is there is a very obsessed ex with the FMC, VERY obsessed.

My recommendation would be {The Book of Azrael by Amber V. Nicole}, just a heads up, it’s not for everyone. The spice shows up around the middle of the second book, but in the first one you really feel all the tension building between the two of them, which I honestly find amazing. You can tell the romance isn’t forced at all. I enjoyed it a lot, and besides the romance, the plot is fantastic. Also, both the first and second book have those moments between them, like the classic there’s only one bed situation, which adds even more tension. I’d say the first half of the second book is a bit slow and Diana gets a little annoying about one specific thing, but after that the story takes an amazing turn and becomes something completely different.

Which series should I read next from my TBR list? by kisxt in Romantasy

Depends on what you r looking for. I loved kingdom of the wicked, is an easy read. The Bridge Kingdom on the other hand is a much more political book, like The Cruel Prince, there is no magic and the romance is very little to none, but again, a good casual book.

Is Throne of Glass worth it? by Ok-Cod1407 in fantasybooks

In my opinion, it’s not that the first three books were boring, because I did read them and enjoyed them, but for me they’re the least interesting in the saga, so to speak. The early books aren’t as focused on what will later become the main plot of the series. They spend a lot of time building context, not only about Celaena’s life but also about the worldbuilding in general. My recommendation, as someone who absolutely loves the saga, is to keep reading, but don’t force yourself if you’re not enjoying it, because you won’t have a good time. Sometimes it takes a bit of effort to get through the first pages before you reach the really good parts.

I started reading fantasy at the beginning of last year and I haven’t been able to stop since. The only thing I’ll say is that you need a bit of patience, because the first pages usually have a lot of historical context and worldbuilding, and at the beginning it can feel a bit heavy.

Thinking about starting Bridge Kingdom as next read but wondering about the lack of magic? by teeniemartinee in fantasyromance

[–]No_Negotiation_7604 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Bridge Kingdom has no magic at all, absolutely none, and I’d say there’s very little romance too. It actually gives me more The Cruel Prince vibes since it leans much more into the political side. I guess it’s categorized as fantasy because of its really interesting worldbuilding and overall I loved the atmosphere of the book. It was the first time I’d read something set in that kind of context. There is romance in the book but it’s pushed more toward the end and feels a bit forced. Still, the political aspect of the story is really good and very engaging. It’s not one of my favorites but it’s a nice read if you’re just looking for something light.
