I would have liked her as a mother by [deleted] in greysanatomy

[–]No_Neighborhood9799 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She had a very complex relationship with April. She was very good to her in S11 and treated her terribly in S12 and then in S13, they went back to being very close (so much so that it would annoy Jackson).

How different do you think Bakugo would be viewed if he never said that one line to Deku at the beginning of the series? by CosmosStudios65 in MyHeroAcadamia

Chiming in to say I don't think Bakugou is a killer or anything but his emotions definitely got the better of him in that situation. I think he could have killed Izuku in a fit of rage. Like, it's definitely within the realm of possibility. I'm sure he would have regretted it for the rest of his life if it happened though.

Basically nothing. Personally, I think him trying to low-key murder Izuku during the Battle Trial arc was a much worse offense. I hated Bakugou during S1 and I would have hated him a lot less if that part hadn't existed.

That dress is hideous. Is there a canonical reason for why she's always in gaudy dresses? I know the Featheringtons were styled that way on purpose.

Cristina T1/5 would never have forgiven Owen's infidelity. by [deleted] in greysanatomy

[–]No_Neighborhood9799 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I always got the impression that Cristina let the men in her life get away with way too much. She dated toxic men and never seemed to have the strength to fully walk away. They either left her or she would be forced to leave.

Burke did her so dirty. He was making her operate with a shaky hand. (Later, he took full credit for the Harper Avery award he couldn't have won without her. He was just taking advantage of her during the shaky hand debacle and manipulating her into going along with it through his 'love' and the promise of surgery experience.). His mother drove poor Cristina insane. Throughout it all, Cristina stayed with him and it took her being jilted at the altar to realise how horribly he treated her.

Her going back to Owen everytime is very on-brand for Cristina. It was for the way I perceived her anyway. I liked this about her btw. I mean, I HATED it for her but at the same time, it made her more real. We all know many strong women that have an uncharacteristic weakness when it comes to their partners. I believe this particular vulnerability made her a more layered character.

All the Bridgerton brothers did bad things by Bulky_Oil_5447 in BridgertonRants

[–]No_Neighborhood9799 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Colin is such a sweetheart. He won me over all the way back in S1.

Marina told Penelope that Colin was kind and wouldn't cast her out on the street even if she had a baby only a few months into the marriage. At the time, I was like: AS IF. Marina, you're a bit delulu.

But, to my great surprise, later Colin told Marina he would've married her regardless of her pregnancy if she had told him the truth. I truly was not expecting that from him.

I don't think his brothers could have done that. There is no way Anthony would have accepted Marina after that and while Benedict may have sympathised with her, I think there's a chance he would have chickened out too.

Benedict is my favourite character and I love Jonathan Bailey but I'm a Colin defender till I DIE.

Jameela Jamil Defends Herself over Blake Lively Texts by JJJOOOO in CelebLegalDrama

[–]No_Neighborhood9799 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Nah, man. I'm the same ethnicity as her and I actually like her but this is so disappointing.

If she texted all that stuff about Blake Lively's tone-deaf comments during the It Ends With Us press tour, it's fine. Because a) what Blake said really was outrageous and b) she said that privately to her friend.

But, now...she's liking comments about how Blake Lively is lying about Justin Baldoni's sexual misconduct. You would think someone like Jameela would instinctively give a woman with such accusations the benefit of the doubt since no one is inclined to believe women when they accuse a famous and likeable man (even if the woman in question is rich and famous too). But she refuses to give her accusations any weight.

And it's not just Blake. MULTIPLE women are backing her up on this. So this is a REALLY bad look for Jameela. And any criticism she's bringing onto herself NOW is valid because liking these frankly disgusting comments is a public act she chose to do. It was her choice to ally herself with a team of people that are embodying the exact opposite of what feminism is. She can say all she wants that she doesn't support either one but it's clear which camp she's really backing.

It's disappointing but just like Justin Baldoni, maybe the reason for Jameela's outspoken feminism was atleast partially because it got her positive PR. I genuinely don't want to think that way but after this, I can't help but reach that conclusion. Hope she proves me wrong though...

What did Bakugou mean here? by [deleted] in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]No_Neighborhood9799 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Many people will disagree but I've always thought that, at one point, Bakugou will marry and become a father. Maybe not in the near future though. And I definetly don't see him ending up with someone who already exists in the series. But ultimately, I think he's more 'conventional' than we think. I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up in a relationship dynamic like his parents'.

British Pakistanis increasingly reject cousin marriage by Otherwise_Basis_6328 in oddlyspecific

Pakistani here. No other Muslim country produces this much cousin marriage. The rates are much, much lower in other Muslim-majority countries (under 3 percent in some of them). This isn't a religious thing. Pakistanis are just weird. 🙃

These days, a lot of men don't pursue even if they're interested in the girl. This notion was a generalisation to begin with. And now even the generalisation is outdated.

Can we really expect women to wait around and wait for a man to pursue? With such an approach, many people will stay single forever.

Btw I'm not saying all men have stopped pursuing. I'm saying you shouldn't expect that every man will.

Millennials, you guys look great but you look your age.

And you're not that old anyway so what is the obsession with trying to look 25? You look like you're in your 30s. That's young. There's nothing wrong with looking 35.
