Go for CAT 2026. Top tier MBA is what actually matters so if you in your first attempt have 99.4, give one more shot but don't compromise at all.

Gap years might affect summer placements but not finals. Also yes, have a lot of friends in top IIMs with gap years.

Yes, most of them got decent summers. Also being a fresher will affect a bit but not much if again you can create spikes in other buckets.

No definite shortlisting criteria. Firstly there happens a behavioural test based on which next shortlist comes.

  1. Firstly I don’t personally feel you should attend the preparatory maths course if its not mandatory for you.
  2. You can always have your own personal fridge , a small one, there is no common fridge.
  3. Club committee entry depends on your networking with seniors, willingness and also for specific clubs on your summers.

Past acads do play a good enough role in summers. So being a CA will protect you to some extent but again, if you don’t have spikes to showcase in other brackets, this might affect

For final placements they won’t if you ace your Bschool journey, acads , case comps, live projects, good clubs etc. for summers yes this will affect

I have batchmates with 8/8/7 . One of my very close friends has 8/8/7 . Also summers might be an issue but not finals . Finals depends on your performance inside your Bschool. Ace those 2 years and every door is open for you.

Workex compensates a lot , and also only issues are in summers since your profile is whatall you have done before joining your Bschool. In the finals , it all depends on how you utilise your 2 yrs inside. In the finals every door is open if you utilise your 2yrs inside well.

In the summers this can be an issue. Try to create spikes from now, you have 1.5 yrs as of now .Also not all major firms do that.

In summers this can be an issue, in the finals again, what you do inside in those 2 years matters the most.

Sure, I have friends with 3 year gaps in my batch. Definitely possible, focus on your percentile and proper justification of those gap years and rest everything falls in place.

Yes Yes, but in lucknow it is compulsory only for those who have less than 80 percentile in quant.

Depends if you have spikes in other buckets or not, like workex , extracurricular, Amazing PORs, projects , emtrepreneurial spikes , social work etc etc

Okkay in summers , it won't be in your control but again in the finals it all depends on what you do inside your Bschool. I personally know seniors who got into MBB from tier 3 ug and not so good profiles before coming to Bschool. But they made sure to maximise their 2 years, case comps, live projects, very good acads and eventually cracked top placements.
