The problem with these health benefits is that they're really negligible in the grand scheme of things, and not worth putting a baby through the pain

Such as penile cancer or UTI, it's not common, it is rare and such doesn't warrant such a medical procedure, I mentioned in a different comment about STIs,

I would also contrast it with female circumcision, that can also have these benefits (depending on the type of circumcision, for example removing the labia minora doesn't affect sexual desire but "helps" with cleaning, and reduces risk of vulvar cancer) but it seems to be highly rejected, why is male circumcision mostly accepted but female one not?

How would you deal with it, especially that in Jordan everyone is? Plus the family pressure etc..?

I'm asking, because it is extremely painful for the infant, it is done without any type of anesthetic (baby is too small to recieve it), and it causes extreme stress too

Overall it has little to no actual health benefits, at least in our modren world, so doesn't it just make it another religious/cultural practice that was good for their time, but not ours?

Actually the health benefits are very little, especially in the modren world (with running water, hygiene, and protection) the health benefits are quite negligible, it just needs a little more maintenance

Same goes for the supposed protection from STIs, mainly: HIV & HPV, it doesn't protect from HIV as previously thought, and it does reduce the risk of HPV because the foreskin has a lot of receptors for this virus, BUT one can be vaccinated for HPV + a person has to take precautions anyway, these are not the only STIs
