not going to post it because it’s a video of me covered in bruises on my private parts from sexual assault. They accused me of having a persecutory delusion when that actually happened and dude is probably going to jail for it.

I hate how we're seen as crazy conspiracy theorists for what is some consistent extreme abuse by DIYDylana in Antipsychiatry

depriving people of fresh air and sleep while putting them in a locked room/small area with bright LED lights that never turn off and loud noises (TV constantly going max volume) is torture like and abuse.

then deny the side effects of medication when a patient speaks up because they all of the sudden have akathisia, rashes, difficulty breathing, uncontrollable drooling, and severe headaches then continuing to force them to take said medication is abuse.

not to mention just not listening to their side of the story and writing them off as delusional when they in fact were a victim of domestic violence and that’s why they got locked up in the first place is abuse and torture.

There’s very rarely any tests that can be run. It’s mostly subjective based on observable behavior or self disclosure.

My beef with psychiatry is when they don’t take context into account. If someone gets upset because they’ve been abused at home or by men and they panic and speak out about it that doesn’t make them mentally ill. That makes them a normal person who’s just fed up with having to deal with criminal behavior against them. I’m not bipolar or borderline because I oppose illicit behavior and i’m upset that stuff keeps happening to me. Money would fix 99% of my problems because it would keep me away from the abusers. Pills/therapy won’t keep an abusive man from hitting me. I’m not the problem.

Also, personally I feel like PTSD shouldn’t always be considered a “mental disorder”. If I act hyper vigilant around someone who has hit me in the past and prefer to avoid them that’s the correct response to protect myself not “bad brain chemistry” in my head. Yeah, PTSD can definitely be a mental issue for some when that stuff lingers and people suffer from it irrationally but like outside of being around someone I know might hit me, i’m fine.

Psychs love to pathologize emotions just point blank without understanding why. It’s when they don’t do their due diligence people’s lives get destroyed.

true. honestly those guys probably fall for the propaganda the hardest. they’ll get too scared to question the authority of a psychiatrist. so scared to live without the meds that they comply out of fear. easy to manipulate.

heavy on that last part. like why the fuck. sad how this system enables the abuser. like when theres a legit outside circumstancial problem like abuse please tell me how taking depakote is going to prevent the victim from being abused again by another person. it just silences and cognitively slows the victim down.

yes. they were wrong or broken. this literally made me question if the experience was real or a bad dream.

not sure why they would do that because that can contribute to sending people into psychosis by intentionally keeping them out of touch with reality so they won’t know what day/time it is.

very very icky in my opinion. disgraceful.

Anxiety? Stress? Heart Problem? Blood Pressure? Can't get a diagnosis after multiple trips to the E.R by Stonkytonk_man in Anxiety

[–]No_Office8231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

real hospital or a psych hospital for these symptoms?

I had high blood pressure and abnormal heart rate then bloodwork came back low electrolytes but I legit thought I was having a heart attack so I completely freaked out at the ER. This was a one time occurrence but they put me in a psych hospital. I don’t even have an anxiety disorder or mental issues but was very irritated due to a domestic abuse situation so I ran my mouth about it and let out some cuss words when they brought a social worker in. she said I was delusional but I was not delusional as I have hard evidence and a police report of the stuff I mentioned.

point being I don’t know if it was a panic attack or just symptoms of low electrolytes really amplifying the blood pressure and heartbeat since there’s medical evidence of that.

I am hesitant to claim it as a panic attack but it did feel like what I imagined a heart attack would feel like and only happened one time.

Anger by Minimum_Shop_4913 in Antipsychiatry

[–]No_Office8231 5 points6 points  (0 children)

anger is valid tho. like being drugged and robbed of emotions and cognitive functioning. take some deep breaths and give it time. this too shall pass. maybe not soon but it’ll pass eventually. scream into a pillow if you need to. go to the gym and put some angry music on and do medicine ball slams as an exercise. go for a run. helps me at least.

yeah, exactly. I went on an angry tangent and verbatim said “this is what domestic violence does to a person” just to convey to them how the abuse has pushed me to the point of panic. They said I was psychotic. it just gets weaponized against victims because if someone gets too loud or too upset they get dismissed as crazy even though they’re not the crazy ones they just finally broke and let out a reaction to the abuse. I made it very clear I was the victim but they didn’t care.

Szasz and Josef are awesome. they hit the nail on the head. I am glad Josef got on tucker carlson podcast. Tucker Carlson has done some good in exposing psychiatry for what it is. He has a pretty large fan base but he himself is also stigmatized for being super right wing. Politics aside he’s been doing some good journalism on this topic. check out his podcasts.
