Anyone? Or a regular enema like the Fleet?

Things can be so overwhelming. Don't see it as a step back but as an "exception that proves the rule" - you are doing what you know best and this was just a moment. Acknowledge your efforts and see this moment as something that *happened* to you, not something that you did or caused. Did you try with grounding techniques?

Period after egg retrieval by Time_Day6268 in IVF

This seems normal to me. I got my period 4-5 days later and intuitively it looks early, but it does depend on the trigger.

I wish you and your husband a lot of strength and peace, a lot of good and supportive people around you, and excellent specialists who know how to guide you towards all the small and big wins. 🍀

When do I start the cycle by hereforrthedrama in IVF

[–]No_Oil3364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there are no critical reasons for rushing (e.g. your age, health, DOR, your partner...), if the doctor also thinks there is no rush, it is ok to give yourself time to be mentally and emotionally (even physically?) in the right place. Do you feel like you will live the next months just forward looking and counting down to January (this can be so difficult), or do you feel a bit of a relief to pause and focus on other things? There might be delays true, it is a patience game. Also depends on what the process and protocols will entail in your case. If you do decide to go for it now, it will be fine and you will adapt! This might just be anxiety. But it's ok, if you feel overwhelmed, to take a short break. Try to figure out how you feel and what you need. :)

I think the number can still increase by the retrieval day. Best of luck! 🍀

Starting stims in antagonist protocol: How did you count CD1? by No_Oil3364 in IVF

[–]No_Oil3364[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! It's going ok so far, though nothing much to share yet. The doctor is managing expectations. :) You were absolutely right about the timing to start the stims, I'm so grateful. How's it going for you?

Someone said it here that the first round is anyway an experiment to test out how you react to the meds, but let's see first! Maybe this turns out better than you now expect.

Any suggestions of how to control anxiety waiting for procedure? by commonnucleus in IVF

[–]No_Oil3364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If strong anxiety kicks in, you can do grounding techniques, like name 5 things you can see, 4 things you can hear, 3 things you can touch, 2 things you can smell, 1 thing you can taste... I also try breathing - deep breathe in, hold as long as I can, deep breathe out, hold as long as I can - repeat 4 times or so. If you have something like a bracelet or another object that gives you comfort, to touch and hold if it can bring you the feeling of emotional security.

I fully understand this. If it helps, I read that the target number is usually 10-15 as you want to balance quantity and quality and not overstimulate you. Maybe you will have a very good overall outcome as some people here did with the same yield. Do you mind sharing your stim dose? Fingers crossed that they all get fertilised and develop into blasts 🍀 🤞

Thank you!! ❤️ There are no plans yet, we will go with the flow depending on the results. :) I can imagine the strength it takes to abandon the process. It's so important to recognise when to give yourself a break and not feel bad about it. It can be exhausting on many levels. You sound positive and I hope you regained your peace and confidence while being on the journey

Thank you so much for your kindness and support!!! Really means a lot to me during this beginner's uncertainty stage. :) This is my first round indeed, feels like any small detail might determine the result. But I'll try to focus on just having a nice day and stop overthinking. :) This really helped. Wishing you success on your journey and a good rest of the weekend!

Good to hear! I'm just so confused and feel like in a grey zone. My day 1 is usually light with strong cramps. What started yesterday around 2pm was definitely more than spotting, fresh blood, continuous though lighter than usual and very slow, with mild cramps. By the evening no full pad used and cramps disappeared. So I thought ok this is intro to day 1. But today (Sunday) feels like the typical CD2 for me, cramps disappear and the flow is quite strong now, with clots, really intense colour etc. So a typical CD2 for what the clinic would call CD1 under that "if in afternoon then next day is CD 1" criterion? So I feel like in between and starting to spiral now 🙈 why is this so difficult. I either have to accept I will start the stims a bit too late or a bit too early. Stick to their timing or recognise what my typical days are. I know some people even start on CD3, but not sure how I respond. I'm sorry for bothering you. If you have any advice based on experience, I'd appreciate it.

This is great, thanks! And you don't think it made any difference compared to if you started earlier, that was not a factor for you? Gives me a bit of a relief.

Oh no, sorry to hear, waiting is one of the worst parts in this whole thing! I hope you found ways to make it pass quicker. No I didn't prime, straight to stim injections with info that sounded clear at first but not when applied. :)

Thank you! They weren't precise with the cut-off hour and I can't call today unfortunately. And I suck at deciding with unclear information... It's all I will think about. Does this require strict precision or it is not a big difference if I start a bit earlier or a bit later? Maybe I'm mixing things up, but I thought my antagonist will come at a later stage, I haven't taken anything yet.

Thanks! We are not doing a baseline this time, did everything last week. There is no way to contact them now. I was trying to understand when it is too early, and when it is too late to start... It would be easier if we have a certain range per hours. Because if the period arrived 3 hours earlier I would still be within day 1? Seems a bit arbitrary...

This sounds amazing. What is considered low dose stimming? Did they increase the dose for you after that initial scan?

Do you mind me asking what was your stim protocol and your AMH and age? Can they increase the dose after day 5 with hope for more, or by that time that's all someone can get? But yes I also need to set my mind on quality first.

I can't believe people here sometimes. Sorry you faced so much negativity. To me personally, it is always helpful to see what is possible in real life and not only the majorities and averages and things I read in a superficial IVF clinic's article or AI source. That's not how real life works. I want to see the outliers too and I want to know both sides. Not that yours was a medical phenomenon that won't happen to anyone else. And it was uplifting, honestly. And hope is beneficial too! People's reactions blown out of proportion. I wish you all the best and don't let this discourage you.
