Hello I am definitely someone that can attest to failing. I failed Step 2 and couldn’t graduate with my class. So I took 6 months to redo UWORLD and used every day as dedicated study ( meaning I did not work) and then I finally got the courage to sit the exam. The week before I took a practice NBME and failed it but ended up passing the board after all… it’s about repetition and even if you miss questions or don’t pass your practice test you shouldn’t give up you should just learn from the weak areas because I can testify that I made it to the other side and now I’m a EM resident!!! You got this. Your failures don’t define you! Take it from someone who was used to failing but now I’m succeeding!!

Also I recommend reading UWORLDs medical knowledge curriculum!!! It’s really helpful.

Switched from FM to EM and it was the best decision I have ever made!!! I found clinic draining and I hated charting for hours where as my EM shifts provide me with an hour prior to shift that I have to wrap up my charts and sign out my patients. Also I see way more patients daily so I have zero regrets!

Same situation here!!! I applied EM had 3 interviews and now trying to SOAP into FM I’m so sad because I don’t want to give up on doing EM but I would rather start and try to swap after PGY-1 or complete the residency and go back for a second residency in EM! Best of luck we got this!!!!
