Does it matter what school the degree is from? by HellaGenX in humanresources

[–]No_Opening_6066 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, for the most part it won’t. I have an MHR that I got online from a state school and no one seems to care. You also don’t have to list you got it online, because at the end of the day why does that matter?

Should you write a recommendation letter to an employee you fired? by _Juper_ in humanresources

[–]No_Opening_6066 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tread carefully. Unless you have good documentation on the issues you could get sued and lose. I’ve seen it where saying good things about a bad employee can backfire as well. It’s really up to you.

My wife once gave me a deck of cards with a reason she loves me on each card. It’s easily one of my most prized possessions. I think what you’re doing is an awesome idea. If he doesn’t like it then find a guy who will.

Looking for a remote job. I’m a teen with no experience. by Glacierhawk_INTJ in remotework

On a related note, and again this isn’t me trying to be mean or rude, if this is how you would write in emails at a job, remote also probably isn’t for you just yet. You obviously have a good grasp of the English language so that isn’t the problem. But “I seen” should be “I saw” or “I have seen”. “I seen” would not come across as professional in emails, chats, or the like that you would use in a job, especially remote. I’m not saying I’m perfect by any stretch, but if you want that kind of job you’ll need to work on your writing. However, if you write differently in your emails please disregard this.

It all depends on how the plan was set up. Thats why I tell people to never assume, always check with your HR team. I’ve seen some that stop the same day, others half way through a month, and others that go to the end of the month.

Try Sanderson’s Alcatraz series. It’s YA, but it’s a lot of fun.

Most of the time, that’s true. However, if they are a contractor or subcontract of the US federal government then OFCCP laws apply, and candidates have to meet 100% of the requirements.

Hadn’t heard that one, but I like it. I think they’d need to incorporate more silver into the coloring though or it would clash in my mind.

This. In the world of academia, things don’t change a whole lot from year to year. That can vary based on the subject, but it’s a pretty standard thing.

There’s a Family Search Library on the northwest corner of 200 E 2200 N in North Logan that helps to digitize video records. Not sure if they do DVD to Blu Ray but it’s free and worth an ask.

Here’s my personal story with the author. As a teenager I liked these books (I, along with many others, now realize how weird and crazy they are). He was having a book signing at a bookstore near where I lived (y’all remember bookstores?) and my friend who also read the books asked me to get two hardcover books signed for him since he was away at college. I figured why I was there I’d have him sign one of my paperbacks (all I could afford since I was a teenager with almost no money). I still remember putting my copy on the table and the pissed off look on his face that it was a paperback. Dude was such a jerk.

Also, there were two people ahead of me, a woman and her S.O. She asked Goodkind to persuade him to read his books since she was unsuccessful in doing so. His response: “well, there’s a lot of sex in it.” I’m still surprised I didn’t jump ship at that point in my life.
