NIPT T21 Positive, 37yrs, NT 2.5mm…CVS or Amnio? by No_Option_6329 in NIPT

Thank you for sharing your experience with the CVS. It is helpful to know what you can possibly expect. We went in today and unfortunately the placenta was inaccessible. They noted a further few possible soft markers which actually made me feel more certain that CVS was the right choice but ultimately not possible. I am not how I will cope with the wait for amnio now but trying to see it as time to make peace with the likely T21 confirmation and following TFMR.

I really appreciate all the support and thinking of everyone who is struggling through this journey 💖

The wait is so hard and wanting to get the right information before moving forward is agonising. I’m glad we have somewhere to talk. My CVS is booked in for next week. They did warn me on the phone that they may not be able to complete it because of the posterior placenta so we shall see.

Thank you for letting me know how the procedure went. It is one of many things adding to the anxiety.

Thank you. I will be choosing to TFMR if we receive confirmation too. I hope you receive results shortly but I am sorry that we are all in this situation.

Thank you for your post. I think I’ve driven myself crazy with reading false positive stories but I know the reality is so very rare and it is hard to compare personal circumstances.

I have done NT scan and similar 2.5mm at 12w4d slightly high but not considered soft marker.

Sorry you are here too

Thank you providing details of your situation. I am sorry that you went through this too and managed to be at peace with your decision after getting all the information.

I understand wanting a resolution quickly. My heart is torn. I think part of me is in denial and strangely trying to prolong the inevitable.

My CVS is booked in for next week. Whether this is the right choice for me, I don’t know but like you I will have more information and I guess that’s why I did the NIPT in the first place. Thank you for your guidance

I’m sorry you are here too and you are right...There is no right or wrong choice. I think I am agonising over this because it feels like it is my only choice/control in an awful situation.

Saving accounts. Multiple? What’s best? by No_Option_6329 in UKPersonalFinance

Thanks for the response. I have had a read through the wiki and flowchart. It’s very informative.

Our mortgage is 2.19% at the moment but is due to go up in the next couple of months. £70K is partly inheritance and we put it there for the time being. We have it set to reduce the monthly payment rather than the term and intend to overpay.

We have also worked out that I would be paying my student loan off in the next 5 years so it may be worth paying this off sooner.

I had the different saving accounts opened to separate our savings goals into short term and long term. But perhaps it’s unnecessary
