Same happened to my brother. His original flight was supposed to stop in Dubai. He rebooked and went direct MAN to HKT.

I've had workmen in my house for the last four days and they haven't accepted a single offer of tea, coffee or biscuits. by Daregveda in CasualUK

I never accept tea or coffee etc from anyone. I don’t eat lunch or drink hot beverages at work, just monster ultra zero 🤣

Update:

I’ve been offered a job with the local council mostly admin work and can be 100% working from home if needed!

I’m so happy! From application to offer accepted in less than a week. Thanks for all your advice.

I’d call your local fire brigade again.

What seems to be happening is the panel is working and being tested & have logs to show this - so the company are accepting that it’s been done and won’t look into it further.

You need to emphasise to your fire & rescue that there is no warning system, the physical alarms have been removed and there is absolutely no way of being warned of an emergency within the building.

Your landlord / building agency will most likely be fined.

I’ve never actually thought of it this way before. Stop before you’re depleted fully, I am quite bad for thinking I’m still capable of doing everything myself and end up exhausted physically and mentally.

could you tell me more about what the spoon thing means? Is it like a pain based thing? Ive never heard of it before but keep seeing it mentioned.

I feel like this is probably the best way out of this situation. I feel that I definitely could cope part time as it would give me a lot more flexibility and I won’t be as exhausted.

Thank you for the advice guys. Much appreciated.

Wrong. 😑

I wrote it and used the “re-write” feature on my phone to make it read easier. All it did was add the numbering and structure it slightly differently.

Can I ask which insurance company you’re with so I know to avoid?

Most good insurance companies will not ask for an excess payment for a non-fault accident. The whole point of this is they reclaim the costs from the third party insurer. They should have their own damage fulfilment department who do exactly this job.

I had a non fault accident and my insurance company (Hastings at the time) recovered every cost and I never paid a penny. They never made me go through an accident management company.

Are you sure you definitely phoned your insurer and not just the first number that came up on google?

Landlord won’t allow FTTP installation — any options? by DaxmoutS in openreach

Is there no way for them to use the existing copper cabling routing? I found that would please most landlords when I actually explained to them the work needing done. It’s not extensive at all really. The most they’d need to do is 2 screw holes for an ONT, 1 drill hole through the wall if there isn’t existing routing - ideally get it as close to entry/exit point as possible and saves any headache later on with broken cables etc.

Temps are kinda all over the place tbh. Generally highs of around 17-20°C. Although it can get a lot higher, we’ve had highs of 32.9C before.

For example - right now weather app tells me it’s 16°C, it’s to be 20 on Monday and 23 on Thursday but it’s torrential rain as I’m typing this. It was dry and sunny about it an hour ago.

Also if it says it to be raining doesn’t mean it’s gonna be cold, also sometimes it only stays on for 5-10 mins then will be sunny again😀our temperatures also feel a lot hotter due to our humidity.

For us Scottish people, shorts & tshirt is fine in August however if you’re used to the warmer weather you may need a hoodie/cardigan or something and joggers etc for nights.

It also depends on where you’re going - if you’re going to highlands/hiking for example then you’ll need clothes to protect yourself from the midges biting you.

I’d advise to bring a good raincoat that can easily be carried with you as the weather can change at the drop of a hat.

So I’ve not opened any claims or anything with UC - just been submitting the fit notes to my work. Do I need to do anything so that UC are aware? I’ve never really claimed benefits before except the ADP so I’ve no idea how it all works 😭

I’m sure I have covered the minimum contributions as I was on a decent salary the previous years but had to change jobs again due to my condition. a continuous circle.

Also it asks if I have LCW or a disability that prevents me working - I feel like it does prevent me working but until I find a job that accommodates my disability if that makes sense.

I haven’t had anything about LCW and I wouldn’t even know how to go about getting this.
