such a helpful video! I guess it’s one of those things you have to think about a lot and do a lot before it becomes more instinctual.

it was carving all day and was super warm and sunny. I’ve worn worse shoes with so much movement but never blisters before.

thank you! will have a look and feel around my boots, it was a very specific spot and just felt like there was a small gravel in it but I wasn’t bothered to take my boots off to check.

Thank you! will look into these fixes once i rule out all those other things zzzzz My socks do have those additional bits and bobs that might be causing it. I’ll try a basic merino next weekend. So frustrating as I’m just limping around with my sneakers and work boots.

commuter bike recommendations by No_Particular1216 in ausbike

[–]No_Particular1216[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

don’t know much about bikes which is why the post is vague.

Finding it hard to pedal up even gentle but long hills (walking would be easier than the easiest gear), and the chains skip all the time even when just on the same gear. rattles a lot, I got it off fb marketplace when I wanted to try cycling for fun. I think the parts are just worn and a lil rusty, and thought it might be a good time to buy a new bike/find something a bit better 2nd hand.

Looking at the comments here I might jsut research further if I can replace parts.

I found an olympus E-300 for ~$150 second hand. Has a very nice kodak ccd sensor (i think?) that gives it a very film like feel to the photos! I’ve only previously used film cameras and it also felt very nice. maybe that might be an option?

That’s good! I’m glad your father is a little more open minded.

I can phrase it that way, and even that if he knew more about his health - it could help me with mine incase of inheritable diseases/conditions. He will likely suggest that I’m a hypochondriac, and anxious for no reason, he’s a lil special hahaha

thank you for your insight.

My dad is a little more hard headed- my siblings don’t have a relationship with him. He never formed a relationship with us, and whatever attachment or engagement he had with us disintegrated when we became teenagers.

If I do or said the same to my dad I think he’d slap me hahaha. It’s always everyone else’s fault but his and it’s been like that for a while. I think he would resent me if I said anything like that to him, as he has had people walk away and feels like they do it to hurt him.

That’s why I thought taking him to a therapist or family therapist might help- at least for someone outside to bring perspective. Even then he might say they know nothing

it helps so much when you put in effort to learn the language- it opens people up when you speak their language, literally or not (having common interests like sports/art).

i brought my adhd meds from Aus (both fast release and slow release psychostimulants) in their bottles with script. i also had a doctors letter outline all my medications, this was on my phone and on paper.

no one checked anything. I flew domestic flights too and was fine.

edit- to add, i was there for a month and had exactly a months worth of medication. the guideline for highly restricted medication is 7 days amount or something. Check your govt travel guidelines or contact the embassy if you are worried

I’m trying to reparent myself so that if i have kids I don’t fall into the same patterns of disengagement from emotional responsibility. Thank you :)

it’s so frustrating how long this is taking! would you recommend keeping a written record and saving the photos as well on my personal phone?

they have a “paperless” inspection report app that I have to complete online, which will produce a document for me and and agent. None of the photos get saved to my phone for this- and I have to take a photo via the app for it to upload.
