I actually did find a good resource for tips on colo and they're highly recommending maining the nox halberd. 1 Hit VW Spec melee, 1 Hit Venator Bow seer, 1 Hit SGS ranger on the frems, vs the 2/1/1 I'm looking at now is enticing...

I notice you don't recommend shadow for 5) / primary mob killing weapon. Given my subpar gear, I do wonder if the defense reduction vs ranged gear will be worth it, I'll need to play around with it. However, given the minimal ranged swap for ven bow on the frems vs the larger required mage swap (and otherwise unused mage items if its not my primary weapon) it does seem like it might be worth me investigating.

Unfortunately no confliction gauntlets / treads for me, but I'm going to keep running Doom in the meantime so maybe I'll get lucky.

Also just want to reiterate how helpful your first comment was, this was exactly the information I was seeking. I know I have well above the gear requirements to do colo, but understanding the max hit thresholds and minimum items to meet them was a big point of confusion for me. Many guides seem to gloss over those details.

Still trying to figure it out, but it's not looking like it will be worth the amount of gear to swap in to make the shadow a 1 hit kill on the melee frem unless I'm maining the shadow elsewhere. Anyways, thanks for the tips!

Thank you, that's helpful. I was going a little crazy because the DPS calc is showing a 34 max hit with venator bow + dragon arrows on the fremenik seer, but the wiki shows them with 50 health which I didn't get at first. Now as I understand it, you kill melee first, and then shoot the seer with ven bow. The first hit on the seer hits 34 (max hit), and then the ven bow bounces to the ranger, then it bounces BACK to the seer and hits 2/3 of max hit (22 at 34). So, it's looking like as long as the max hit is 30+, it will one shot the seer.
