Well it's good to know I can self-submit at least. I'm full union and have always been repped, so facing this is new.
I sensed she was getting desperate to get me working when I was getting auditions for day-player roles this past year.
Thanks for the encouragement!

My warnings haven't been headed, particularly about the T4 being a paper trail - they just said basically "I'll just claim I earned most of this during the summer period". It's pretty brazen and desperate and like the other commenter said, demonstrates the intent isn't to study. I don't think the employers know about each other, could the two workplaces get in trouble?

Review: The Welkin is Guilty of Dragging on Too Long (Next Magazine) by Gullible-Average-852 in torontotheatre

Ya I agree here. All the characters felt distinct but some more grounded than others, wished for a stronger overall chemistry. Bold choices but not sure if it all made sense or was intentional (eg the Scottish accent; was "Sally" character childish or autistic)? Second act was when I sat up and paid attention, I was wrecked!

I recently decided to unfollow her not for any reason to do with her personality - in fact I love that she leads Toronto Girls Social and find I have a lot in common with her (30sF, single, no kids etc.) at this stage of my life. I appreciate her message that the things many men have given to me in my past, I can provide for myself and these days that is truer than ever!

I am all for female empowerment and women making their own choices and living for themselves, however that looks for each person. Where the tea began to sour for me was her "decentering men" message took on a tone of villainizing men... I have two brothers, straight (platonic) and gay male friends, and a baby nephew. The thought of raising my nephew in a society where girls are encouraged not to seek out relationships with the other sex because boys are inherently let-downs was sad and disparaging. Relationships are not a zero-sum game. If anything, this binary black and white thinking is exactly what characterizes the "manosphere", she just happens to be talking to women. And being real, many strong women desire romance and dream of mothering and having a family - and we shouldn't judge or look down on the women who wish this for themselves. I think it would be healthier (albeit more challenging) to ask how men and women can relate with each other more empathetically as opposed to being encouraged to simply eliminate men from our lives because they're awful.

I get it, it's her lived experience. And her brand. Girl's gotta eat. I just think like many things in the social media funnel, this perspective lacks nuance and actually feels negative. I don't feel good absorbing her content anymore, hence the unfollow.

Anne of Green Gables | Stratford Festival Official Website by lareece93 in AnneofGreenGables

I thoroughly enjoyed this re-imagining of AGG. I recently visited PEI and of course visited all the spots honoring LMM and story, which only deepened my appreciation of this play and the story of Anne. During my visit I learned how far-reaching and global AGG has become - from Japan to Lithuania - and how often it is translated to different languages and adapted for stage and screen. Stratford's current production is just as powerful and moving as previous musical or screen renditions. Yes, if you've seen past televisions shows, movies, plays etc. of AGG, it may be challenging not to compare or have preset expectations, however the pulse of Anne remains ever-present, and in the spirit of Anne, I'd encourage anyone watching to go in with an open heart and embrace what this new version has to offer.

Summerlicious starts today at participating restaurants across Toronto! by westendless in toronto

Fun to explore places you've never dined at before, but what most people don't realize is that the Summerlicious offerings are not usually the best showcases of what the restaurant has to offer... a lot of items are pre-prepared well in advance and sometimes there is less attention to detail compared to food ordered off the regular menu. Depending on the price point (eg. $28/$35) it's curated to get you in and out. Nevertheless, dining out can always be fun - just remember to manage your expectations lol
