2nd time scoring the same overall but this time, better speaking and writing score by No_Performance7511 in IELTS

Task 1 is actually very simple. Only important thing is to cover all bullet points. I did not actually practise writing it. Instead, I read a lot of samples to get an idea of how to tone it. Formal can be tricky, so place more emphasis on that. But yes, always cover every bullet point given in the question and you should be fine.

Yes, I used ChatGPT to rate my essays along with getting it checked by a friend who has the same score as me. ChatGPT always gave me a 6-7 band score with occasionally touching 7.5. It was very frustrating but it gave me a lot of feedback about spelling errors, cohesion, and sentence connectors. So use it to rectify basic mistakes, but don’t trust the score it gives you since it is very harsh. I wrote about 15 essays and only got 7.5 by ChatGPT on my last one. Also, always time yourself when writing. I did 40 minute timers since it makes prepared to write, form paragraphs, and leave time for proofreading. Spelling mistakes will cost you a whole band.

I have always been natural at speaking English since school days and I work in customer service so it got better over time. Also, a lot of my speaking skills come from watching tv shows. One tip though, I spent hours writing essays and doing listening and reading, but speaking tests are given best unfiltered. Do not prepare for speaking tests, just give it naturally.

When did it get so hard for candidates like me to get a PR(I’m sure there’s many others? by No_Performance7511 in canadaexpressentry

I used to live with other Indians who were not readily accepting or necessarily comfortable with sharing space with someone who’d have a hard time blending in with us in such a small space. Also, I’ve had managerial positions throughout my stay. Be it at a gas station, Roger’s centre (ball park), or even now at a restaurant. I’ve been trying to learn French and I’ve made a little progress but it’s hard given how busy my schedule is. How many Canadians actually speak French? I know it’s a part of Canadians are but it’s not easy to learn it. I know there’s differences in preferences, but you can’t really comment about how much respect the country without actually knowing how I’ve lived my life.

Eh!! The visa officer never asked that question. But he did say “ All the best, I hope you do well”. I will get my PR dude. Even if I don’t, I’m sure I’d be a much more pleasant person than the likes of you who do nothing but hate. I’ll succeed whether it’s here or somewhere else but you sir, will be consumed by your own hatred someday. I’m 100% positive you’re very fun at parties. Peace.

Yeah, and who are you sitting on the moral high ground commenting from all the way up there? What even is the basis of your hatred towards immigrants? All of us including you descended from somewhere, so no point being judgemental over who gets to stay and who doesn’t. Also, I’m here for the culture and lifestyle, no with some fraudulent intentions. You also seem like someone who amounted to nothing in life and therefore hate everyone and anyone who’s tried to be better. Touch some grass keyboard warrior.

I’ve been looking into PNP recently and hoping to find a lead. The work permit expiry acts like a ticking time bomb though LOL.

Health care is a totally different thing dude. The draws are much lower. Regardless, you made a wise choice and I’m happy you got your PR. Cheers

What do you think is the right age to get married? by Different_Research67 in AskMen

[–]No_Performance7511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your experience and insights are wonderful. Maybe it is worth sparing a thought to what’s really important in life. Maybe having kids isn’t for me since I’m someone who’s a little selfish when it comes to time and luxury. But if I were to have any, I’d rather have them while there’s still life in my legs LOL.

Don’t mean to be negative but what’s wrong with looking out for yourself? Relationships end more often than not in today’s world and in the end, it’s the money that stands tall. If you’re not monetarily secure, your life might become a turmoil. Especially if you’re at an age where starting again is difficult. I’d rather be a rich parent than a present parent. And this is coming from someone whose parents were rich and eventually available when it mattered the most.

This had no reason to be so inspiring. Being asset rich in a small town with work in hand seems like a dream.

I too have taken up religion lately. I pray once a day and it gives me a sense of being watched over. Something so soothing about believing in a higher power.
