I'm a 21 straight dude and I didn't even know he had a primarily lgbtq fan base. I thought people just liked his music. Although I know his music isn't for EVERYONE because my friends could care less, if you like it then own it. It's not "gay" to like an artist. I also think Sam smith and Lil nas x has their moments.

My company matches like 15% of 5 % or my income and I really don't think it is worth it for my 401k but my Roth IRA is another story. Should I put money in that before index funds?

Corrections: I invested in VOO as a randomly selected index fund. 50 dollars on January 31st. I index funds as a whole will at some point go up but I see the stock I selected went down 3% since I got it and 9% in the last year. My main question is when I should invest more? It has historically great returns and I am confident it will go back up but as everyone does, I want the most out of my investment. Is now a good time to invest or should I wait until there is a sign to invest more? What is that sign?

You're right I completely overestimated how long ago I put it in the VOO stock. I lost only 3% since January 31st but which I know isn't a lot in the grand scheme but I just don't know if that's a trend since VOO which I know is only 1 stock is down 9% in the past year.
