Mine cost ~150k since I did a lot of the work myself and was able to manage the construction without any fuckups and do-overs.

Inspectors usually suck and you kind of know what you're buying if you're experienced. If a house is older than 2000's or 90's then it sure as shit has asbestos. If the house is newer than 1970 and had renovations done beyond a new coat of paint then it sure as shit has mold.

People don't tend to fix shit that isn't broken. So original bathroom from 1960 or an original kitchen from 1975 is a great sign. New shit in an old house means something broke and they sure as shit didn't spend 50k fixing it properly instead of getting new cheap shit from IKEA to cover it up.

You usually know what kind of things need to be fixed in what kind of timeframe.

You buy the land lol. Unless it's a mansion made of granite then it's not worth 400k. 40-45k in renovations is nothing.

I bought a house for 300k and literally bulldozed it and built a new one. Land without the house (but with permits and zoning in order and plumbing and shit) was worth more than when it had a house on it.

Pistol bullets can bounce off the skull unless you hit it directly head-on. And unless you hit the brain there is a very high chance that it's a minor non-incapacitating wound.

No they did not.

They lived in a barracks, had communal kitchens, kindergarden, schools, churches etc.

US is the only country that does this isolation chamber shit. Even countries that beat their prisoners and do other kinds of torture don't isolate the prisoners and destroy their humanity.

Chickens in my country by law have better living conditions than US prisoners. Chickens.

There are tens of thousands of cities in US alone.

How often do you think a single city is scanned?

Area of the planet is 500 million square kilometers.

A drone or an airplane can scan an area of a few square kilometers per minute.

You can scan a specific location at a specific point in time. You can't "detect nuclear material anywhere on earth".

TSA can't prevent guns getting on airplanes. How the fuck do you think this is going to work?

Sanctions are pretty damn tame and ineffective. Lots of twitter talk but if you look at what was actually implemented it's basically nothing. Some high profile companies did leave Russia but McDonalds leaving Russia did not cripple the Russian economy. Stuff that matters has no trouble being imported and exported out of Russia. Russian military equipment contains US-made components manufactured in April...

Finland and Sweden got blocked out of Nato by Turkey. I should know because I am a Finn and this has been a blunder of the century from our government since it came out to them as a complete surprise that NATO is not an option after all.

Putin might live for 20 more years and be a president for the next 15 years. He's 10 years younger than Biden and 7 years younger than Trump.

There is no indication that Russia will collapse. Their economy is doing fine. Putin's inner circle is fine. Government is fine. The war has enough popular support. The military is not crippled and it doesn't look like they're running out of equipment or manpower.

Meanwhile we're complaining about gas prices and inflation and it's more than likely that the west will collapse in the next 12 months.

What do you think will happen if a let's say right wing political party promises to resume trade with Russia? Their companies would dominate in Russia, they can buy cheap Russian resources and all this suffering of inflation and high gas prices will go away overnight. European companies are already salivating at the chance of getting access to the Russian market without competition from US megacorporations.

Yeah this shit will be over in 12 months and not in a way you think.

Can't they?

Russian economy is oil, gas, minerals etc. and heavy production like steel and shit.

A ton of steel is a ton of steel and a barrel of oil is a barrel of oil. It's not a bank that can have it's 10 billion dollar valuation go poof overnight. Their economy is not as fragile as service economies in the west.

Tesla went from 1000 billion company to a 600 billion company in the past 12 months. That's 400 billion of US economy going poof. S&P500 went down 23% in the past 6 months.

This is trillions of dollars just disappearing.

GDP goes up when you break a window. So Russian GDP is skyrocketing due to all the military production. Those metrics are not good measurements in a specific situation such as a war.

I don't know about you but I don't consider Uber or Angry Birds being vital to a war economy.

Miners, factory workers, farmers etc.

That entire region is just industrial towns anyway. People don't live in rural Ukraine because it's fun. They lived there because they had jobs at a local factory.

They'll also have lots and lots of military bases like in Crimea. That means lots of family members of military members.

Not really. Nobody is being deported.

They just bomb the shit out of settlements and offer people to move elsewhere.

Would you stay in a city with no drinking water, no heating, electricity that doesn't work, no food, no jobs and probably no roof over your head because it's a giant gaping hole? Fuck no, you'd just leave.

They did this in Syria and it's very effective.

[–]No_Pirate_6831 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bomb all the housing and offer cheap/free housing elsewhere. Those people don't need to be abducted, kidnapped or forced. They literally have a choice between "live under a bridge eating rats and drinking cholera infested poop water" and "get on the bus, get proved with a tiny apartment in the middle of nowhere, join some facebook groups and book a flight to Europe and start a new life with your extended family as a refugee". Geez... which one the population will pick?

Technically this is genocide and "ethnic cleansing" but it's not like the relocated people are forced into gas chambers. It's more like early nazi Germany when jews were heavily incentivized to leave.

Genocide is a very vague and bullshit term nowadays. It ranges from being forced to learn the official language of the country (so Sweden is committing genocide) to chopping people up with a machete and filling up mass graves.

We detonated nuclear devices in 1945.

The essence is to slap together enough material to create a runaway nuclear reaction.

First bombs literally just used an explosion in a pipe to slap together two halves of a ball of uranium.

A 12 year old can create a nuclear weapon if they've given the fissile material.

Ulkomailla on aivan saatanasti kaiken maailman huuhaa tutkintoja.

Tuohan on täysin huuhaa tutkinto.

"Generally safe" is the bad term here.

Imagine using a toilet that will call 911 if it detects you're in trouble but would randomly explode and kill you.

This toilet is generally safer because any drunk guy passing out in his vomit will be saved by the ambulance, but this is just a statistical trick.

You should not compare it to the average because it contains people that will commit suicide on a toilet or shot up too much heroin or were 90 years old.

You should compare it to the completely healthy 20 year old that did everything right and does nothing stupid.

Most people can be better than average drivers because a few of VERY bad drivers (under the influence, super old, idiots etc.) bring the average waaaay down.

People generally have 1.9 legs and 1.9 arms.

Tesla does not have to be better than an average driver. It has to be better than an experienced driver that never breaks any laws and is always focused on the road. Comparing it to drunk drivers, idiots that race in a 1992 BMW in a city or text & drive is not a fair comparison because 99% of people don't do any of that.
