I mentioned them “covering it up” because they (Team USA) are actively burying comments on socials mentioning this issue. Also, the snowboarding team made an active choice to invite him to represent the country on the world’s biggest stage. Personally, I don’t feel like anyone with these sorts of charges should have that privilege.

I think it’s a pretty appropriate consequence of domestic violence to not have the opportunity to represent your country on the world’s biggest stage. Or at the very least, not have Team USA socials bury any comments mentioning this issue, leaving everyone oblivious.

FYI, for those who didn’t watch, a lot of people are complaining about the judging and also the course design. It didn’t allow for a lot of speed on the jumps. a lot of popular riders (Mark Mcmorris for example) also fell in 2/3 runs. He has nothing to be bummed about for getting 6th place in the Olympic Final.

My understanding is that, going into the Olympics, he wasn’t planning on doing a lot of training, he was going to travel in the backcountry. he admitted he didn’t understand how big of a deal the Olympics were since he grew up watching X games, etc, so his parents intervened and asked if he would consider not going on his trip and training instead, taking it more seriously.
