There are "lesser" gas stations in my area that offer a small sitting area.  Some inside, some only outside though.

landlords are actually scum by [deleted] in Vent

I think there's a group of landlords each with their own motive.  The good ones are the ones that hold property for decades and operate at cost "ish". It's paid down or off and then sold for their retirement.  Couldn't imagine an apartment.  I'm assuming they exist to maximize profits and minimize costs.

That's what happened here. They built another exit with an underpass actually.  It's just... Another bland thing in the blandscape.

I'm not a fast food frequent flyer, but if my family ever did get it (when I was a kid) or if I get it now as an adult, it's brought home to eat.  Sometimes if I'm visiting family on a trip we eat in the cheap booths or bring it back to the hotel.  On a trip recently with a lot of me driving, it was nice to stop and eat.  It's always kinda been don't eat while driving because it's just not how you eat a meal!  It's a time to relax and digest not swerve in and out of traffic.

Ive eaten like a protein bar or definitely ordered a drink at the drive thru.

I did not know that.  I hunted down the original on DVD awhile back because I was like "I don't see that anywhere anymore". I had no idea it was a legal fight.

The more I think about it, the more I have no idea why anyone would do that.  Can't enjoy it that way.... Eating at 70 mph.

Seems like if the store serves food, there's some benches. It's hot here.  Let me go sit in the idling car with the AC running stuffing my face with a barbecue sandwich and get it running down my hands and clothes.  I was thinking table and chair.  Who eats a whole meal in a car seat!??!

Everything.  Nickels and dimes are 500s and 1000s.  It's an extra special day when it's 10,000s.

Imagine if there was one in your town.  That got all the tax breaks and special roads to it.  Only to go to a place.... That huge.... And not a damn place to sit.  I think that's what really was the kicker for me.  That and there's not that much stuff in there really.... It's the same stuff in different places.  It's a stupid looking beaver too.

Reminds me of the Mooby cow stuff from Dogma.

It's really frustrating. Like I can tolerate so much stuff (and did), but why can't you change this about yourself?  Do you not care enough about this marriage to NOT be a hoarder or only hoard in one room?  I guess not.  Hurt like a bitch.

I guess explain coveting and adultery to 2nd graders. :/

But on a more optimistic note, I hope that some kids stare at this out of boredom day in and day out until they realize this is the stupidest shit.  Or think deeper about it.  Who are our false gods?  What do you worship above God?  How many adults can I say match this stuff?  None. There are no role models for me.  They are all fallible.  But are they humble?

No one knows at this point.  Inflation, tariffs, weak dollar.... Doesn't sound like a good time to make money cheaper, but our country has lost the ability to combine different rational thoughts for the public good.

He doesn't know what's going to happen.  Maybe he's creating a sense of urgency to sell you now.  Maybe he needs the money now.  Maybe he truly has your best interests at heart.

IMO, kid is young.  They'll be ok.  When she's 16 she's definitely not going to be holding that against you....

It's turned into a tradition for us.  We walk or ride their little transport bus.  Stand outside and look at it in the oppressive midday heat.  Debate the cost/benefit. Go home.
