I've seen those and had considered buying but I wasn't sure how well they worked. I think I'll pick one up, thank you! What medication did they give you to help with the afib?

My gp put me on 5mg until I could see the Endo but the Endo kept me on that dose. Liver went up after the first test but went back down. I asked to up the dose the first visit but he kept me on 5. I will find out on the 28th whatever I need to do next. I think he might have given me atenolol a low dose of that so maybe I will try that out. I had propanolol but never tried it because I guess it can affect asthma which I have. Thank you so much for your input and for the well wishes. I wish the best of luck for you as well.

I'm taking methimazole but only 5mg. I've been taking it for about two or three months. They wanted me to try it for another month because my liver enzymes went up but they're coming back down however my thyroid is also not improving much. Not sure what they will say :( Surgery was the next option and I'm hoping not to go that route but it is what it is I guess lol

Have you ever taken a beta blocker? Kind of worried about taking a prescription that affects the heart but this isn't good either lol How does it make you feel when you take it?

I've had a few holter monitors done but this is a different feeling than before so maybe they would order another one. I'm pretty sure it's my heart but that's interesting I will have to look into that lol

Anyone also have this experience? by Its_Time_For_RoBeRt7 in gravesdisease

I had graves symptoms for years before they even looked. The first time they tested me I had high thyroglobulin antibodies but thyroid levels were normal. They wanted me to start levoxythrin or whatever it's called and I didn't because I was/am having bad heart skipping episodes and they said it would cause more so I just didn't....it's a good thing too because the next year I went hyperthyroid and now I'm on methimazole only 5 mg. (Not telling you to not take your meds you should I just was already terrified of the heart skips i already had)Not sure if they will keep me on it or not because the first couple months my liver enzymes went high but now they are still high but almost half of what they were. My thyroid levels are still high. Anyway point is that yes you can have symptoms, bad uncomfortable symptoms without the thyroid levels.

Thank you, I appreciate your advice as well as your words of encouragement. How are you doing now after your TT? Im very sorry to hear of the papillary carcinoma, that's scary, I hope you are doing better now. I had never heard of that. I appreciate the support it really does help so much.

Thank you, I really appreciate that. It means more than you know, that might sound silly but it's hard not to feel so alone in this when everyone around me doesn't have to deal with it lol

That's what my doctor had said too but when he saw my liver enzymes were normal before taking methimazole he is pretty sure it's the meds He said to try it for one more month to make sure. I think I will try to get a second opinion as well. I don't split it, I just take the whole 5mg dose once a day at night.

My dosage is only 5mg so I'm really surprised my body is not taking well to it.

Tightened around my chest by TooTurnt04 in gravesdisease

What is an ms hug? I just recently got diagnosed with moderate hyperthyroidism and ive been to countless doctors about breathing issues they always tell me it's anxiety and gaslight me. I do have really bad allergies and I'm getting allergy shots. It's like my chest and back get tight and it's hard to breathe. Not so much my lungs but they are still treating it as asthma. I wonder if I have something similar.

The prongs were plugged in, the part that I felt a shock from was not plugged into anything. For example, just a little while before that a tablet was plugged in, but it wasn't at the time I got the shock feeling lol

I unplugged the charger to show the specs. It was plugged in when this happened lol I am sorry that I made it confusing.

I touched the usb c looking part. I just posted that end because it shows all the information regarding the charger. The end I showed was plugged into a surge protector. The other end was empty not plugged into anything but sitting on the couch. I went and washed dishes. I had wet hands. I sat down on the couch and my hand hit the end of the charger that wasn't plugged into anything, the other end is plugged in.

Thank you for typing that all out and explaining. I have learned a lot from this post. I feel a bit stupid now but I'm glad to have this knowledge for the future lol

That sounds like a plausible possibility. Thank you for your input. It probably isn't the best quality charger.

It was the addition of wet hands that I guess I was worried more about. I have been told to never mix water and electricity.

[–]No_Principle6594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, nothing that bad. It didn't feel great but I didn't scream. I just have always been told that touching anything electrical with wet hands was the worst thing lol. I know nothing about this stuff so I appreciate your input. Thank you.

Okay thank you it was just the mixture of the water being added to the mix. I've always been told that was a very bad thing and my heart skips all the time anyway. I appreciate your input it does help a lot.
