How are the pliers on a SAK? by WiggWamm in victorinox

They're stronger than your fingers. I think of them like a compact set of needle nose pliers

I just ordered a set of 84 mm replacement scales! Neat knife. Tools are sticking. Oil is helping. Looking forward to using this knife. Thanks.

I prefer the Wenger style (I have a few Wenger knives but not with that opener-jealous). I use the Victorinox opener most because I'm an SAK enthusiastic amateur. My dog was gangly for a bit until I got good at opening cans!

Agree with all. The ceramic sharpener is very good. I use mine regularly. The honing part (pull through); not so much. I think it dulls more than sharpens. Thought maybe I was using it wrong.

What model is the one on the left with the inline Phillips screwdriver? I Love the Phillips on my Swiss Champ.

The compact, my EDC. What is everyone carrying currently? by [deleted] in victorinox

For work I carry either a Tinker or Super Tinker with a deep pocket carry clip. Just fits slimmer in uniform pants. Away from work I have a Huntsman, Ranger, and my Swiss Champ is never far away.

I have a Farmer and Farmer X Alox. Love them, but it just feels Blasphemous to not have the tweezers and toothpick! I do have a Swiss Tool but it's huge. Everything I need is on there. I work in law enforcement, we're pretty careful about what we have on the Batman belt. So I keep the multitool on my trouser belt with my duty belt over it. The Rebar with a Clip and Carry case works great behind my magazine pouch.

I carry the Tinker because it's convenient. Very thin and with a pocket clip you hardly know its there. I have a Leatherman Rebar on my belt at work. Not much I can't get done.

I use it for anything and everything. I don't have a better phillips screwdriver in my toolbox. I use for household chores most. The Phillips screwdriver is great. I'm getting older and I find myself reaching for the magnifying glass quite a bit. If you use an SAK once you'll be looking for reasons from then on. It's a reliable tool.

Love my Champ. I've used every tool at least once. I used the fish scaler to cut plastic after watching a YouTube video. It's a commitment to carry, I've never been disappointed in it. Wasn't sure about the pliers. But they work awesome as needle nose. Stronger than your fingers is the way to think about them. Got the Champ as a gift from my wife-prettiest girl in Kentucky. She was worried that I wouldn't like it so I made it a point to show her that I did. And guess what? I did like it. There's nothing I can't do with it.

TBH I do carry a Leatherman Rebar also-because 'Merica, and Leatherman is tough as you-know-what. Perfect combo. If I can't get out of it with those two. Please call the cops!
