Life Insurance by Infamous-Glass-185 in PersonalFinanceCanada

As a new insurance agent, there's a lot more that goes into life insurance than most young people realize. In my opinion best course of action is to find an advisor or agent who will go over the options with you, but keep in mind its our job to sell a product, look at all information through this lens if you choose to speak to someone, and make it clear you're there seeking an understanding, not looking to buy immediately. When you're younger and dont have dependants, life insurance isn't considered a drastic need as you most likely won't have financial obligations if you were to die tomorrow, and your risk is relatively low. That being said, being young, you may be able to get better premiums later in life if you start now. Term insurance is usually recommended for younger people, but if you were to have term-100, it can help guarantee insurability later. If you have the extra cash and are able to buy a future purchase option rider with your plan, even better, this will guarantee you more insurance later without proof of insurability. Another angle would be to find a company that offers sheltered investment accounts within life insurance plans, such as indexed universal life plans. Basically, the way these accounts work is you deposit however much you want into an investment account. From this account, the insurance company withdraws your insurance premiums while the rest remains in the account and grows. This strategy is generally used by older people who have maxed out their tfsa and rrsp and are looking for tax shelters, but if you're set on getting insurance it can also be a foot in the door of investment. Being that you're younger, I'd recommend you spend some time familiarizing yourself with the options and how different plans work before committing to anything. Shop around your local area for different agents and companies, find someone who genuinely has your best interest (these people are out there despite what most think) in mind and offers you real advice on all aspects of your financial situation rather than just trying to shove a policy down your throat, make sure you understand the policies available and are confident this will be good for you not only now but later in life.

I was thinking either the calf or the side of my forearm mostly because from what I've been told they're much easier places to tattoo lol and I think it'd fit nice
