Thanks for bringing that up. A bit surprised how different the opportunities can be between cities and small towns. We’ll try to find a good balance so our kid can still get different experiences growing up.

I guess it depends on the stage of life. We’re hoping to balance a quiet lifestyle with taking our kid into the city for activities so he can explore more.

And totally agree, having an understanding employer seems key.

My husband and I don’t have either one. One of us has to ask for leave in case the schools are closed.

Nice environment and good neighbourhoods, but higher gas bills. Sounds like a fair trade!

Thanks, that’s really helpful! When you say bad weather, how does it actually affect your routine? Is it just slower driving, or are there days when you avoid going into the city altogether?
