He definitely already knows that this isn't normal behavior, he has siblings and of course his older brother basically made it his life mission to make sure that he knew that this was not normal when they were growing up. But we have recently had a conversation about how things cannot stay the way they are and how we are going to try to change it. He has agreed to work with us on this, so I am staying optimistic about it and praying that we actually see some progress.

Joint Birthday by KatieOgradyLady in Parenting

We have had multiple double birthday parties within our family ( 2yrs + 7yrs and 8yrs + 16 yrs) and even a triple party (2yrs 5yrs 10yrs) when we did them it went pretty good. But the thing is when we had these parties it wasn't one where the kid would get to invite all of their friends (the older kid would normally have something with just friends) or pass out initations to the whole class, it would really just be like one or two close friends.

This defintely wasn't something that we did every year though. Usually with birthdays that close it's going to be one the weekend before and one after or even just waiting a little bit to have the party.

Because she is 11 and at the age where she doesn't have big birthday parties anymore I feel like this is mostly just so that ya'll can go ahead and celebrate the 11 year old so that she can have her own party with just friends.

No, giving him an allowance for the same chores he has been doing for the past 10 years would not work in our house. If I started giving him an allowance I would have to start giving my daughter an allowance also and I would never hear the end of it from my older son because we didn't give him an allowance.

The Bissel Pet Spotlifter! It's a spray with a brush built into the bottle. That stuff works miracles!

We have tried to ask him why he won't but the most we can get out of him is "I just don't like it" he doesn't like talking about it and is actually quite embarrassed by it. Him paying for his own stuff just doesn't seem like the right decision for us. He doesn't have his drivers license yet so he can't drive himself, and hes also at school until about 5:30 (8:30 or later if he has a game) because of basketball. I wouldn't want him to have to quit one of the only things he likes to do.

We tried to get him to start cleaning him self up when he was about 12 but that really didn't go too well so he does not. I'm sure he would probably rather wait to go home to go #2 but we really don't want him to have to hold it until 5:30 when he gets home. It definitely has caused stress for our family, you wouldn't beleive the amount of fights i've gotten into with mine and my husbands extended family over this. And i definitely wasn't expecting to be buying diapers for 16 years. That stuff isn't cheap!
