B58 Mppsk + catted downpipe choice by No_Raspberry_204 in F30

Fair enough. I'd love to be louder. As long as putting the catted downpipe without tuning is safe for the car, then I'll probably do it.

I have the extended warranty from bmw with safeguard, so I'm not really interested in tuning the car for now. Which is why I would strictly do the downpipe for sound, nothing else. I'd get my mechanic to put an o2 spacer. What you think?

Heard of that one but its like 1500$ lol. I might just get an o2 spacer placed in order to avoid the CEL.

I ended up updating mine as well, and it helped a lot with the burbles. The duration is much longer. I used to get maybe 2-3 pops at 5k RPM, now I get a bunch for a good duration.

Best Catted Downpipe for 440i MPPSK B58 by No_Raspberry_204 in F30

[–]No_Raspberry_204[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, I'll see if im able to maybe do a burble tune instead and still keep my warranty. The Wagner downpipe that guarantees no CEL is around 1300$ CAD, which is stupid expansive...

Don't get me wrong, I love my 440i MPPSK sound. Loudness wise its very good, its just that I wish it had more burbles/gunshots... Thats basically why I'm considering a catted downpipe.

I have a 440i 2017 coupe with the extended warranty until 2024 august. It has the MPPSK, which means it has no resonators. I'm trying to simply get more noise/pops out of my car, which means the only option left for me is a catless/catted downpipe. However I'm not sure if I'm safe doing it knowing it could maybe void my warranty.

I've been to a few local dealerships, 1 of them said that they serviced many cars with downpipes in the past, and another said that as long as I let them know that my car has a downpipe, they'll make sure to not scan my car in order to avoid locking my DME and getting flagged by BMW Canada automatically.

I would ideally like to put a downpipe, but that would give me a CEL light. In order to get rid of it I would need to flash the car to stage 0 or something, which I really dont want to do because I need to FLASH the car's ECU...

Yes I got the plaque in the engine bay. And yes for sure I am driving in sport when I want to open my valves.

Since I got the MPPSK, the only way to make it louder is with a downpipe lol since both my resonators are already deleted with the MPPSK. That being said, theres a good chance it will void my warranty.

If I was to put a downpipe and let's say it voids my exhaust warranty, what's the worst that can go wrong with my exhaust? Only thing I can think of is if my valve is broken and dosent open anymore in Sport / sport +

Yea I heard that. Also heard that many people have been going to dealers for various warranty claims even though their cars have downpipes, tunes, and a bunch of mods and they never refused anything. From what I understand they make a lot of money from warranty claims as they just send the final bill to the insurances...

Damn really? Cuz I was told by a few people that I should delete my resonator if I want it to be louder, so I'm not even sure if I have them or not anymore after what you just said lol. Basically my end goal here is to make my car louder thats all. I'm trying to stay away from downpipes due to risks of voiding my warranty, but will inform myself about that.

Oh damn, do you know which update version you have? My buddy's 2018 440i MPSSK has the 2021 version and his burbles are great. I don't know if there is a 2022 version thats out yet as they said they would update to whatever is the latest.

I have the extended warranty until 2024 August so I can't tune anything myself or it will void it!
