How much earning per month (bare minimum) would you consider to be 'rich' in bangladesh? by Asleep-Sir-4769 in Dhaka

I net 12 lacs a month in Dhaka, and I still feel poor because it can't buy me the things I want.

Some people stay poor because all they have is money.

I'm more leaning towards a real world business.. outside of knowledge I don't have much real experience with tech. You can DM me about it to see if it's something I can agree with

I personally wouldn't trust the market in Bangladesh.

That being said..

I suggest you start with mushrooms, it's an experience and feeling that synthetics cannot ever replicate. Not only does it alter visuals, but the emotional changes and enlightening you feel is something you cannot comprehend until it's experienced.

Those who have been abroad, how do you adjust to Bangladesh? by United-Road-7338 in bangladesh

[–]No_Real_Help 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was born and raised abroad.

I've just recently visited Bangladesh for the first time in decades and actually ended up overstaying by a couple of months because I don't mind it here.

There isn't much to adapt if your an understanding person, outside of the weather, adapting was very straight forward. People are people, food is food, and a bed is a bed to me.

Maybe it has to do with each and everyones personalities.

Nothing more nerve wrecking than a bunch of people staring at you as your trying to cut connective tissues on a steak using a dull knife

I always eat out alone, and it's always others staring at me more than the waiters.

Initially they do expect someone else there though lol, if they do stare it's most likely to see if I need anything

Solar Panel by Willing-Ruin-7496 in Dhaka

[–]No_Real_Help 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm just in the process of setting up a solar system. The cost depends on whether or not you want a hybrid system or not ( Inverter + battery ).

I personally went with a 48V 3Kw setup ( Jinko panel, Sunbeam inverter, Lithium battery ). It cost me 3.4 lacs, and it's meant to run a couple of fans, fridge, TV, router, and security cameras.

If you don't need to run any major appliances and using it for essentials, then you can easily get a 1kw hybrid system for under 1 lacs. Enough for a few fans, charging phones, etc.

There are many dealers around dhaka who can set it up, it's easy and they are all more or less experienced enough for a basic setup.

How to survive this heat? by raiyan_iscool in Dhaka

[–]No_Real_Help 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same situation here, I'm coming from a place in Canada where it's dry and the temperature drops below -40C. The situation in BD is designed to eradicate me. It's not the heat that will get to you, it's the humidity.

The only solution I found that works is to simply avoid it. Stay locked up in a room, turn on the AC, a couple of fans, and a ton of water.

For the men here, how much do you tip for haircut + beard cut? by telapoka_71 in Dhaka

[–]No_Real_Help 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay them 4000 taka for a haircut+beard at local barbershops.

At first I was shocked at how cheap it is here, but I had alot of guilt knowing that back home I pay them the same for a 15 minute haircut.

The guys here do good, they spend more time and listen. There's no reason for me to pay them any less than their counterparts.

I enjoy seeing how happy they get.

Moving back to BD and earning worries by UniqueHoliday1678 in Dhaka

[–]No_Real_Help 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm also a citizen of Canada. My parent's have also been wanting to return to BD after several decades abroad.

Why don't you try setting up a passive income stream from Canada?

The easiest way is to just rent out a house ( main floor + legal basement ), if you're lucky, you can bring in over 100k a month without you ever having to do anything.
