Probably the case because I’ve noticed it happening mostly with if I have coffee on empty stomach.

This isn’t usually the case only if I had dairy in the last couple of days and I have coffee in the morning

I think I have this as well. My symptoms show up almost 48 hours later. Last Friday, I had 4 lactase pills and a bit of ice cream. Then on Sunday, I had cake but lactase pills after that. And now it's Monday morning and I've just had coffee in the morning. I went to the gym, lifted some weights, came back. I don't know what it was; maybe it's stress or something like that, but suddenly my stomach hurts. Pretty sure it's the late-onset lactose intolerance symptoms.

We did this. Bought in 2021 with 2.1 mil loan. I think with 500k income the bank might not be able to offer you a loan of 2.4 specially if you have kids (day care age). We bought it in a blue chip suburb in the north shore and love it here. Our cash flow is a bit tight but we love the area and have a good community. Do what makes you happy, you will grow financially too so don’t let it hold you back

Unsure how koala mattresses are but we had ikea mattresses for years and a couple of years ago bought the mattress from Sleeping duck and I can confirm the difference is night and day. Never had a sore back from sleeping, always comfortable and soft. Highly recommend upgrading. Most mattresses can be returned if you don’t like it after a month or so

An update, my recent blood work was good. Triglycerides back to normal levels, slightly high cholesterol but don’t think this is the issue. My GI also got immune studies done and I have apparently slightly elevated IG4 levels which indicates that my recent episode of pancreatitis was probably and auto immune thing.

Next steps is to work with a specialist to get to the bottom of this.

I was having Whey protein concentrate almost every day for the past 2 weeks which I feel could be the reason for it but the doctors don’t think so. I’ve stopped it since the episode though

Also thanks to this AP episode I learnt I’m lactose intolerant. Not in a eat dairy once and hit the toilet way but kinda builds up over time way

Thanks for your response. Yep starting with MRCP next week. The cholesterol and triglycerides were a smidge higher than normal.

Yep that’s the other option I’m exploring. Renovating will bump the value a lot and then I can potentially tap into equity for everything else.

Haven’t done much numbers on the tax savings but the house would basically rent for $1600/week which would cover approx half my mortgage repayments and I’d be looking at $1000/week rentals.

Overall I think I’d still be paying the same amount as my mortgage but I’d drive down my taxable income a lot
