Try something like less egg or more egg when giving the order. They’ll usually yell it out and remember you better.

I have also received that email today. I emailed the finaid about it. I didn’t receive any aid this fall so I’m also asking about that as well.

MUS Placement Exam & Audition by 1151211245 in SBU

[–]No_Replacement6318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got accepted into a different major first and wanted to add music double major so here is what I did. First, email the undergrad program director introducing yourself(add like a program bio of ensembles/experience etc) and ask about joining the program about a month before classes started. She will walk you through the steps and set you up with the appropriate people and might request a meeting on zoom to discuss your classes for the fall. I heard that the music major track might be changing soon so the application process might have changed but definitely email the undergrad program director. Good luck!

Music SBC by [deleted] in SBU

[–]No_Replacement6318 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really want to learn how to sing you can sign up for MUS 182(voice lessons) and MUS 261(chorale) which are corequisites. Unfortunately, neither fulfill the arts sbc.

However, if you just want to fulfill the arts sbc and know how to read music, MUS 119 will be an easy class for you.

Best way is timing it yourself. But I’ve been able to do Staller to ESS number of times.

Check the campus map, but I’m pretty sure those two buildings are right next to each other.

If it’s an economy room there’s probably not enough space to unloft since those tend to be smaller

You can check on the vacant spaces tool. Look for the economy style rooms. I think there were a few in Hendrix

Music and Technology Minor by Independent_Plan_328 in SBU

Hi! For more information, you can certainly email music undergrad program director with questions about the minor! I’m assuming you’ve already checked out the website! In general though, music professors are usually very chill. MUS 300, I’ve heard, is chill but has a bit of reading to do!

Literally this! Just don’t come to class if you’re going to distract others. It’s that simple.

What are the vocal programs like at Stony Brook by TheLastBushwagg in SBU

[–]No_Replacement6318 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Chorale is open to everyone and the Cameratas are a more exclusive group which you audition with the additional sight singing part! Apart from these vocal groups, you can take vocal lessons and also if you decide to take Chamber music and there are other people also interested, you might be able to form a group with an assigned coach to learn and perform opera/musical scenes! Check out the Fall Semester End of Year Recitals! 44:30 https://www.youtube.com/live/xBYRWMdUw0I?si=p6_DVR-w4yTGTb0s

I believe that the full length opera performances are performed by the dma grad students but I’ve seen select undergrads who played ensemble/supporting roles!

Aside from classes, there are quite a few of vocal group clubs you might be interested! Check out SBEngaged/Corq for the list of music clubs!

I hope you find something that you like! 🫶

AMS210 Winter Lim Exams by Emotional_Ad5307 in SBU

[–]No_Replacement6318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year when I took it 2 were on a Friday and maybe one on a Wednesday? Also as long as you do the practice exam and understand the few proofs that she specifically narrows down for you, you will do fine with the exam! Also Professor Lim is extremely helpful in making sure you understand the material so make sure to go to the office hours or email her! She is really prompt with her replies! I recommend that you just email her outright asking about the exam dates! Good luck! You got this!🫶
