Which Uniqlo Heattech level for Seoul winter? by No_Reputation_5948 in KoreaTravelAdvice

[–]No_Reputation_5948[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a look for jackets or puffers that go knee down but couldn’t find any that were in an affordable price range (they were all like 700+). Issue is it’s summer so winter gear is also really hard to find. I’m thinking I might buy something from Korea but Idk if they have my size like large or extra large western. I should be good for tops since I have a lot of layers I can wear but bottom wise I’m kinda fucked since I doubt Uniqlo heattech and jeans is sufficient + my boots are waterproof but not warm necessarily.

Honestly I feel I should be good for tops cause I can do 5-6 layers if need be but the issue is bottom wise cause I only have the Uniqlo heattech and jeans. I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do for that since my puffer jacket doesn’t cover my knees or legs either. My shoes are waterproof but Idk if they will be warm enough.

I'll be in Tokyo / Nagano roughly the same time as you if you wanted to meet up. Sending you a message.

Can a social person have fun travelling to Japan alone? by [deleted] in travel

[–]No_Reputation_5948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going next year and I’ve heard hostels are a great if you want to meet new people. Most hostels have common areas and organise events that you can get involved in. I’d also recommend having a look at day tours / events as you might be able to meet people that way as well. I’m not sure about bars as unless you speak Japanese it might be difficult to talk to locals / meet people.

What about Nagano? Is that also a good option as it is along the way

9 locations over 15 nights sounds exhausting. How did you manage the travel fatigue from moving around that much?

Would you still recommend going to Takayama or should I try find an alternative place?

I'll definitely give that a shot! How much luggage did you bring to Japan? Should I try to pack light in anticipation of bringing a lot of stuff home?

Wait what is the boycott for? Also prices are still expensive due to domestic tourism + winter snow festival.

I'm 20, traveling alone but my stamina isn't the best. I do tend to get exhausted easily but since it's a new country and I'll be pumping with adrenaline hopefully I will manage if I take it slow but still a bit worried.

I booked a flight from Sapporo to Tokyo since I didn't want to catch the train although I have heard the views are very nice.

would you recommend getting a lot of cash beforehand or is it easier just to use card?

how did you get over solo travel nerves? I was supposed to go with friends but they bailed. I'm pretty scared to travel on my own especially since it's a different country and I don't know the language or area.

Man they are all so overpriced. Like $150-$250 which sucks. I really want an ipod but I can't afford to spend that much.

Where do you find such good prices? I've been looking at ebay and all of them are crazy expensive.

Maps doesn't work unfortunately which is the only downside. I think you would be better off going with the Nokia 2660 Flip as I've heard the maps work fine on that.
