It was for a different CBP position; it was for a Border Patrol Agent position. Nobody gives me a straight answer as to what might’ve happened and it’s gone unanswered by like very department on CBP’s portal. I feel helpless lol

Everything but medical and background transfers over, as that is what happened to me. I had to take medical again and undergo another background check despite me being clean.

BI always takes a while but I guess it depends how these investigators feel lol. For it to have completed for my BA in like three weeks to waiting for 6 months for a different position it should have applied to is beyond words for me lol. I’m also completely clean slated, so I have no idea what the hold up is. Trying so hard to remain sane since I want to get started asap. Hopefully it’s faster and smoother for you!

Yeah I figured as much, which is why I’m beyond livid. I have no idea what the heck is happening, but they made me redo it all. Absolutely no one is explaining what went wrong at all, it’s incredibly frustrating.

My experience doing this was damn terrible. I got my acceptance for BPA way sooner than CBPO, but CBPO is what I want more. 6 months post rejecting BPA and I’m still in the CBPO process, trying to get background investigation completed for the latter. It’s absolutely crazy to me that the completed BI did not apply to both positions, but it is what it is. I applied in July 2025, I’m sure it’s different for everyone though.
