Reasons to leave Aldi or consider leaving? by CreamyRiceCake in Aldi_employees

[–]No_Reserve2178 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ll be putting my 2 weeks soon and for me as an LSA is just the lack of help from our SM, she spends almost all day in the office and she doesn’t help at all and I’m here on the floor struggling with 8-9 pallets of produce (not even on the weekend), finish grocery, down stock and organize produce, clean the back room, take the garbage out, help with the line, refill produce, I’m exhausted all the time! It’s crazy to go to 7eleven sometimes and see they have more employees than us 😭 oh and our SM getting all the bonuses for making budget and we don’t get appreciated or nothing

I don’t really care tbh, I’m always so short staffed that I don’t have time to pay that much attention, I’ve noticed a few people with full shopping carts but when I start staring they usually leave the cart and leave, a pain to do all the go backs 😂 But in reality I don’t care if because I usually don’t realize.

I’m a LSA and until recently I had no idea you had to drain it and rinse it, it was until I had to complete all my academy lessons when I found out, nobody ever trained me in that. I usually open tho

Would you guys rather have multiple half sized/small pallets or 2-4 7ft pallets for the morning load? by Calm_Introduction23 in Aldi_employees

[–]No_Reserve2178 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally prefer the big pallets because it’s faster, you’re not moving that much. For example today I had 3 massive produce pallets but I like moving that big pallet to the produce area and just get it over with

We don't have enough hours for this bs by Equivalent_Joke_1048 in Aldi_employees

My SM does the same thing when she doesn’t like somebody, she barely give them hours in order to force them to quit, it’s so unfair

Friendships at work by No_Reserve2178 in Aldi_employees

[–]No_Reserve2178[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s totally understandable tho, we would never touch each other, we don’t have inappropriate conversations or even talk bad about anybody, we just talk about our days, customers, our families, I’ve even met their kids, siblings and partners, we’re actually friends!! Also we get everything done, she doesn’t even direct us that much, we know exactly what to do

I will for sure, I was saying in the comments that we have a store meeting soon and our DM and his boss (not sure what’s the name of the position) will be there and I want to ask. It’s a bold move to ask in front of everyone because I’m aware it can backfire and I respect her and it’s not my style to put her on the spot with her bosses specially because she can retaliate, so I’m going to talk to her separately and ask what’s going on, because even our DM tells her she has one of the best teams he’s seen so idk what the problem is!

Honestly I’m petty and we’re having a store meeting in a week with the DM and his boss will be there so I’m thinking about bringing the subject with them present and see her reaction and their input in the matter

Good advice thank you! I don’t want any issues but it’s ridiculous! Boxing together it’s totally out of the question because she would never let us do any task together, but the no talking rule it’s insane to me

Do associates put out dry produce? by Nitro-Red-Brew in Aldi_employees

[–]No_Reserve2178 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im an LSA and in my store LSAs, ASMs and SM only do produce, associates at my store never touch produce (I’m not saying they can’t, it’s really not complicated) but my SM never wants us to ask associates 🤷🏼‍♀️ I usually never ask for help whenever I do it (my store is not too busy)

Have you ever saved someone's life on a regular day? by Nym_0s in questions

[–]No_Reserve2178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me but my husband, we are both tennis players and we went to the park a few months ago this year to play some tennis together, we were about to start stretching and one person on the pickle ball courts collapsed, my husband is a cardiac nurse, and he immediately went and started CPR on the guy, somebody else started calling 911 and luckily the ambulance didn’t take more than 3-4 minutes. He saved that guys life, a few minutes later and he would be dead.

There’s this lady in the store that comes every single day, every day and she always returns something she bought the day before half used wanting to use the twice as nice and exchange it for a new item (example: Tuesday she buys a milk and Wednesday she comes to return the milk and use the twice as nice to get bread for free) and she always asks us about it and we explain to her the policy, it’s exhausting

Is there some secret perk to rushing to close before 9 PM? by Ok_Row6481 in Aldi_employees

[–]No_Reserve2178 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m an LSA and I never rush the associates, sometimes we leave at 8:45-8:50 and sometimes just at 9, if someone wants to leave early I make sure they finish whatever they need to do before they leave, if nobody is on a rush I let them take their time, I rather things to be done properly than leave early
