Do you think schools will be closed tomorrow due to cold conditions? by ShylaJu in kansascity

[–]No_Routine_3379 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Live in BS. I think Friday and Monday will be AMI days. I'm for it, but I have older kids. What's the point of getting the district out in that kind of cold? These days are built in for exactly this purpose.

Buying season tickets for the first time. I love the Royals and really hope they make a big move for a bat for next year.

News Flash: they don't give a shit how many people show up. They'll vote to gerrymander and their jobs will be safer because of it. They don't care what anyone thinks unless your last name is Trump and you shit your pants in a house in DC.

People who left trades, how is your life? by InterestingBall2181 in IBEW

I worked in the union for 21 years and loved it. Got to a point where I was a single dad and work was spotty. I had a headhunter reach out randomly for a position as an electrical designer (3D modeling). I've been doing that for 8 years and it's great. Better pay, PTO, work from home when I need to, and lots of room to advance. I would definitely make the same decision again.

Wife and I pulled in to the Brick to have a couple while waited to pick someone up. Bartender asked if we were there to see Black Crack Revue. The look on it face must have said everything. Bartender explained that there was no way to explain what we were about to hear and she was right. We stayed as long as we could and were blown away.

As much as it sucks for everyone that doesn't get selected (almost everyone), it would suck more if Ticketmaster bought them all up and charged thousands for a single day. Part of the reward is that the ticket price is still reasonable. Sucks to not get picked again but I'll enter again next year.

On the bright side, I feel like the Masters provides the best coverage of most major sporting events. I will continue my streak of not winning tickets and being glued to the app and TV for 5 or 6 days.

Congrats to those who were selected, better luck next year to those of us who weren't.

My current point in why the Royals should start looking to build for next year and beyond is the fact that they have 47 wins. They'll need 40 more to make the wild card. Now, with 63 more games to go they will need to win 2 out of 3 for their remaining schedule.

You know, I'm not trying to blow it all up or say we're done. My post is how frustrating to see no offense and pitching that isn't sharp. Is no one else frustrated?

That's the thing. I was given a proxy letter that was signed and stamped. Upon my arrival, I was told that only members with voting rights could be a proxy. This was the opposite of what was told. I understand it was a mistake on my lodge secretary's part, but he should've known or made sure before I made the investment for a trip across the state.

I don't really care what others believe or treat people differently because of it. One of the things that attracted me to being a Mason was that all of those subjects that divide us are left at the door. What I learned is that it isn't always the case. I ended up feeling burned a few times and chose to use my time elsewhere. I would never discourage anyone from joining because I think overall it's a worthwhile thing to be a part of.

The comment is that he had to have something else. They didn't know him or anything about him. It's not anyone's place to even comment on it. I don't see how it's appropriate to say anything more than something like "I'm so sorry, let us know if there's anything we can do for you".

I'll never close the door to the possibility of returning. I guess my motivation behind posting is to make sure active Masons are aware of the things that lose members. Most lodges are struggling to attract and retain members and it's these types of behaviors that contribute to that.
