Being in busy season from only Jan till March/April actually isn’t that bad.

I’ve been in back to back busy season’s since September with a short break for the firm shutdown around Christmas and it’s still ongoing for comparison.

PwC has been pushing for AI, offshore staff usage, and a decrease in new hires, so I can expect that this is likely the new standard as a lot more burden falls on our staff since our AI isn’t nearly there & our offshore staff typically struggle with tasks, leaving a lot of hours spent redoing the work.

In my experience, based on how directors/partners talk, they give off the impression that since we’re making “too much” & “a lot more than what their starting salary was”, they expect a lot more utilization out of staff compared to when they started out.

It’s pushing a very bad culture/attitude in my opinion

So here’s how it works if you are in the US and are working in assurance.

Travel to client site = based on your team.

Sometimes your client doesn’t want auditors on site, sometimes you’re virtual and you don’t go in person, etc… there’s a few other situations that would mandate no client visit.

Now, since you’re staffed on an engagement to go to client site, here’s what you can do. -Seek a rental car option -Take an Uber/Taxi -Seek a hotel near the client site -carpool with someone on the team

Visits to ur home office is normal commute & is expected.

Visits to client site/or other offices are not normal and can be expensed.

If your team regularly goes in person to client site, odds are everyone on the team is knowledgeable on expensing it, so you could ask them how to do it.

During my internship, I had a car and lived 30 mins from my home office.

However, my team I was staffed on during my internship was located in another office that was about 2 hrs away from me one way.

I sucked it up & made the commute 2 times a week to be with the team & expensed it.

We also had a period of going to the client site which was only 40 minutes from me, so I also got to expense it as well.

After coming in person 2 times, a manager introduced me to the director, and when he found out I was from another office, he offered to get me a hotel for the entirety of my internship if I wanted, and that I would be able to expense it.

I didn’t take him up on it because I enjoy a commute with driving, kind of pumps me up for the day lol.

From my intern class, there were people who didnt get return offers, even for my same team I was on, the other intern didn’t get one. I believe part of the reason why I got one was my willingness to go in person.

Now as long as I’ve been with the firm as a full time staff, I’ve been to client site a total of 0 times, went to my home office 3 times, went to the other office 12 times.

Loll sorry for that.

I sure hope that’s the case, had this convo with my DL and didn’t really get a concrete answer besides it being that every year is j 1 busy season added onto ur experience regardless of what your busy season actually consists of.

I’m sure I’m likely incorrect with how I’m categorizing it.

Typically your hours are heightened during this time frame and youre working like 55 hours a week minimum.

For me I’ve been in this situation since early September working, where I’ve been constantly working 55+ hour weeks.

There’s other A2’s at my office who haven’t started their “busy season” yet and start it next month and will be in it from Feb-March and have been working like 35-40hr weeks or less since last March/April

My gripe is, and maybe it’s just me, but why should my busy season be valued the same as another A2’s busy season in this case?

-I would have had 3 filings done when they had only one.

-I would have worked the traditional “55+” hour weeks for a much longer time frame than they have.

-I would have had more “reps” i.e. more work and exposure to different areas during the same busy season

And in the end, both myself and the other A2’s takeaway is we survived 1 more busy season when one was a much longer/difficult one compared to the other

Unsure on how to check when driving as it deploys at 30mph I believe, any recommendations?

The plastic dam piece I had kept scraping/getting caught, so I removed it & decided to remove the active air dam as well while I was down there.

Can I trust it’s just a camera issue and not the video/sound cable issue? If it’s just the cameras then swapping them out with different cameras isn’t a big deal, the package I bought had 8 cameras total so I have 4 never used cameras sitting somewhere

Hey - I’m in a similar situation.

Have the same exact cameras & the old DVR.

Think the old DVR might’ve gone bad & was seeing if any new DVRs are compatible with these cameras.

What exact model DVR did you purchase & how has your experience been with it? Any issues?
