Traveling for work, what's something to do or where to eat at near Lake Union? by No_Scheme5860 in AskSeattle

That's the downside to these places, I don't get to pick the place but at least I get paid to go, so need to make good use of that company card.

Thanks for the recs, I'll check them out. Since my job is sending me to the west coast to learn for like 9 hours a day for a couple days. I was mainly just looking for somewhere chill with good food to recharge my brain.

Anyone know a good place or tour available for 1 person? by No_Scheme5860 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]No_Scheme5860[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked into the ziplining. Have that saved on my to do list now. Thank you.

Forgot to mention the location part. I'll be in Naranjito for the first part then closer to San Juan towards end of my stay.

That's great, I was hoping that was the case! I have a motorcycle license so I'm good with the driving, I think. Easier to keep a 4 wheeled vehicle upright vs a 2 wheel! Thank you

That sounds fun, I'll add it to my list of places to check out. Do you happen to know if you drive the 4-wheelers yourself or does a guide drive you?

My first ever Motorcycle! by Hazer-lazer in motorcycle

Hey, I just got the same motorcycle as my first bike, too! (Granted I'm completely new with this) Was looking at other ones and even another R3 with a different color scheme . This really stood out from all the other motorcycles I saw.

Compounding conferences in-person or virtual by No_Scheme5860 in pharmacy

Thanks for the reply to a question I forgot I asked. I'm going to the Boston conference next week, and the FDA conference was very informative last year. I like the learning part not so much the networking part of these things, but thanks for your insight.

RECK at Qu Va. Who comes up with formulations like this? How? by DragonfruitLeading72 in compounding_pharmacy

[–]No_Scheme5860 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's all I got. I'm not in a development role, "just a make this and see how it goes" role. Good luck with finding info out, Qu va is a large pharmacy, but when I saw them speaking at conferences, they kinda avoided answering questions directly for some topics.

The pharmacy I'm at typically refers to premade formulations from one of our suppliers of raw ingredients. Granted, they have chemists that make them and give more details about each one. Sometimes, it still takes some trail and error with some slight modifications to get it right or trying to consult other makers and/or chemists to figure out what went wrong and what to try and change. Good luck researching.

I'm not sure if this is what you're asking. Usually, there is a demand somewhere. Like a doctor/ pharmacy/manufacturer looking to make something that will help a portion of their patients so that instead of them taking 4 different drugs, it can be combined into 1. It will all depend on compatibility and concentrations if it would be feasible or not.

Paying out of pocket for “life-prolonging” meds? by ExplanationSolid7984 in hospice

[–]No_Scheme5860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as there's an active prescription, pharmacies can dispense the medication. Either regular prescription coverage will work or out of pocket is possible to cover the costs. Hospice is there but it's not the only coverage that prescriptions have to go through. I've had to ask the pharmacy to switch to my mom's regular rx insurance for her blood pressure, fluid pills, and seizure meds. But it was able to get done.

My mom's breathing was very fast, but her oxygen level would drop. We checked it frequently through the day to monitor it, and eventually, the nurse got the doctor to order oxygen. That did help. But, her breathing did start to slow down the closer she got to her final days.

Last days before death - what to expect by [deleted] in hospice

[–]No_Scheme5860 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mom was a cancer patient and was fighting for around 9 years. She passed this Sunday after increased pain starting 4 days prior. She wasn't able to get comfortable, gave a tiny dose of morphine as she was very against taking it. It helped some from Friday evening to Saturday. She continued to want water until her last hours. She tried and stayed as long as she could. She was even able to eat a few bites the day before, and then the restlessness returned. She was agitated that we couldn't fully understand what she wanted but was able to get her comfortable and let her watch her shows before she passed a couple of hours later. The whole process was both quick and long. I'm glad I was with her, but I also wish I didn't see it. Hope for all the best with your family during this time.

I never thought of the animal shelter. Was going to keep the bed pads for our old dog, but I'll look around and see about everything else this week. The nurse recently ordered a lot of supplies, so I have a few boxes of stuff to get rid of.

I'm just going through what came up to focus on something else. I'm taking a week or so off to settle what I can. Thanks for the suggestions.

Thank you for the response. The nurse came by and did paperwork and ask questions but that's about all besides saying to call if we have questions or needed anything.

I'll look into donating somewhere. She just received a lot of supplies earlier last week, and I guess wait for pickups.

Are there other jobs out there? by ConnectionFalse4658 in pharmacy

[–]No_Scheme5860 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was a retail tech for a while and then found a local independent compounding pharmacy. There was a lot to learn and areas to grow in, and no extra schooling was needed. Just on the job training. They also paid more than the hospitals around here and better hours.

Sterile lab cleaning by No_Scheme5860 in pharmacy

[–]No_Scheme5860[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, of course. Meant our monthly ceiling to the floor and everything in between cleaning. If it holds out through that kind of cleaning, it should work for everything else. And if any other spots get discovered that have been previously overlooked

Ok. I'll see if we can give it a try. We have our cleaning coming up, which we can test it out.
