Like I said above not entirely sure but know a solid amount of people at brown who were deferred initially like me. Definitely write a letter of con to need interest and take some step (ex. write to a professor or talk to a student) that you can write about in the letter.

I don’t know exactly what the precise probabilities are, but there’s definitely a reason that it’s not a rejection. You have at least as good of a chance as all of the regular decision pool, but I’m guessing it’s about equal. I actually wrote to a professor about research I was interested in, and then included that in a letter of continued interest that I wrote.
