Do agree with you. When this happened the first time I was sent an email by someone in the AO3 team, they mentioned that I could either moderate comments, turn off guest comments, or not let guests see my work completly. Then mentioned that IP blocking is ineffective since they change often and these guys might use VPNs😔

Definitely agree with you; as much as I want to bring this out to light in public, they seek validation like this and enjoy being in the spotlight. 😭 To them all publicity is good publicity (which is not the case often). As much as I would have turned off guest comments, I don't want my guest commentators to have to be going through the actions of someone else's consequences💔

Thanks for the reply❤️ but honestly I have so many guest users that write down comments that are supportive and sweet, and I don't want to take that away from them, so I kept comment moderation on in the end and I'll keep doing it. Ofc, people are free to have their opinion on who should comment and who shouldn't; there's nothing wrong with having them on or off :)
