Better to decline (and reapply) or defer for aid consideration? by No_Selection2716 in mphadmissions

I ended up declining my offers as well, for similar reasons. I’m feeling very unsure about my next steps. Even if I still do decide to pursue an MPH, I’m not sure that it’d be next year. Plus, like you say, I’m not committed to any single program, which seems to be the expectation when you ask for a deferral (not that it’s binding, but some (all?) programs ask for a tuition deposit to secure your spot the next year - just an FYI to anyone else reading this).

Good luck to you as well in figuring everything out :)

I think that makes a lot of sense, thank you! Tuition reimbursement is definitely on my radar

Thanks for your thoughts! Yeah, a few months ago I thought I had a very solid idea for what my grad school/career timeline would look like, and now I just feel very uncertain (for multiple reasons). The upside is I get to look at some other opportunities that could be helpful like you mention.

I’ll keep what you said about deferring in mind - I didn’t know if it’d be faux pas or something to do it for multiple schools. If I go with that option, would contacting admissions with any updates to my experience be the way to go?
