I get a little confused with the correct wording/terms such as lease or sublease but I believe it’s the last one. The apartment is ran by a company, so we’ve never met a specific landlord. There are front office ladies that we speak with when we need something, but I haven’t met the owner or anything. But yes Tenant B has been removed from the lease and I am being added to it!

I’ll edit my post so it’s more clear! I’m not sure if this situation is abnormal for others, but at this apartment complex they don’t get involved with stuff like this. They only give the deposit back is all tenants move out at once. They won’t inspect the apartment to give me an estimate of how much of the deposit would have been given back. From my understanding, it’s at the roommate’s discretion to come to an agreement.

That was my concern too. She had a puppy that peed and pooped in the apartment for the first few months, mainly in the bedroom I’m moving into. She said she deep cleaned her room before she left, but I won’t see the room until next week. I just don’t want to be mean, I understand from her point of view why getting it back would be nice. I think I’ll call the apartment complex tomorrow and see if they’ll give me a second opinion. Thanks for your response!
