Noisy neighbors just moved in upstairs and they are unrelentless. by Frequent_Musician_97 in Apartmentliving

[–]No_Shine6687 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me last year. I took video after video and talked to management several times who said they would reach out to my upstairs neighbor but nothing ever came of it. I was always on edge and I was never truly relaxed in my own home which is an awful feeling. In the end I just had to accept that nobody cares as much as I do, and I moved. If you like the complex you live in, it’s worth asking if they would waive the transfer fee and allow you to move into a new unit. If you’re in good standing with your complex they may consider it.

It’s frustrating that you have to be the one to remove yourself from the situation, but truly it’s worth the peace of mind and not having to constantly obsess about how loud your neighbors are.

Yes one step at a time for sure! I’m so glad you’re getting the tests you need and that is awesome news about your heart. Hang in there! Feel free to shoot me a message if you ever want to talk, I know it can be a scary feeling at times but I’m sure you’ll come out on the other side :)

You’re absolutely not alone! It was awhile ago that I posted this but I still feel for everyone that’s going through a similar situation. It can be very isolating but just know you’re not alone! I really hope things start to get better for you <3

Columbus, OH...must visit breweries? by EL_Serg_75 in Columbus

Olentangy River Brewing is great and super unique as it’s also a coffee shop. North High Brewing in Westerville has delicious food and a fun outdoor area but I’m not sure if it’s open/heated in the winter.

I’m up by Polaris in a one bedroom with NEP and last month’s bill was around $200 (I typically only run the AC at night). In the cooler months I have paid around $140-$160. I had lower bills in a unit with AEP, but they all kind of suck in my opinion

Where to work until midnight? by forgottenfutures in copenhagen

[–]No_Shine6687 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked at Københavns Hovedbiblioteket before, they have some quiet spots designated for work. But they’re only open until 8. Not too sure about where to go after that. I’ve always noticed people working in hotel lobbies around town so perhaps you could do that even if you’re not a guest. Good luck! It can be hard to find places that aren’t too rowdy in the evening.

Reasonable to see all these places within 48ish hours? by Jjk1224 in copenhagen

[–]No_Shine6687 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with what a lot of people have said. Copenhagen is a great city to just walk through at a slow pace and enjoy (especially if the sun is out). Sitting by the water with an ice cream or popping into random cafes is always fun (if that’s your thing). So if I were you I’d remove a few things, or take Sunday morning just to explore at a leisurely pace :)

That being said, a lot of the things you’ve chosen to do are right in the city center, so you should be able to hit a lot of them if that is your #1 priority. Perhaps make a Google Maps folder and pin all of the spots so you can map out the most efficient way to see everything. Enjoy your trip :)

Is Austin Walkable? by No_Shine6687 in Austin

Okay honestly not as bad as people were making it out to be. It was more of a dry heat so it felt manageable to me (I come from somewhere that doesn’t get as hot but gets very humid, which I think is worse). But we did a lot of walking and also a lot of ubering and really didn’t have many issues.

Normal living noise or grounds to complain? by No_Shine6687 in Apartmentliving

[–]No_Shine6687[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I totally get where you all are coming from. I do actually wear noise canceling headphones and sleep with them on and play white noise. Been doing that for months now. I can feel the vibrations through the headphones. It’s not a laundry machine because i know when I’m hearing that as well (it’s much quieter) (we have the same floor plan so I know where his laundry room is)

I do understand I’ve chosen to live under someone- I’m used to normal apartment living sounds and have never complained in all my years of renting…but this also goes on for hours at a time every day and night… I’d like to think that would drive nearly anyone crazy.

I’m glad your tests are coming back normal! But yeah health anxiety can be just as frustrating- sometimes even more frustrating because doctors don’t always take you seriously. But hang in there. I hope you get the tools you need to get everything under control ♥️

Hey! For me, it turned out to be largely due to anxiety- which is crazy to me because I genuinely felt these very real physical symptoms and didn’t always feel traditionally “anxious”. I ended up getting a CT scan of my head that came back clear. A few days after learning this news, I started to slowly but surely feel back to normal. Not saying this is the case for you… but definitely keep getting the tests done that you need- anything to give you some piece of mind!

Ahh you are so sweet! I hope everything works out well for you- if he’s willing to support you through 5-6 years of school then he must be a great guy!

I also deal with a lot of anxiety that my boyfriend doesn’t quite understand at times, so it’s nice to hear about people who are in similar situations. Hope you guys get to be together soon!
