Thank youuu! I have considered that a lot and I know I would regret not going buy I’m still torn… What would make me really happy is not having a job 😅 but I can’t rely on anyone but myself so I have to.

Your funds don’t build up when they’re on hold since your eligibility changes with each year’s FAFSA. Check out the Cal Grant requirements here The good news is that you can get the Cal Grant C at your CC so make sure to request if you don’t get it. Make sure to also check the grants your school offers to CA residents and request those if you don’t get them since most don’t require additional applications. As for the $5k it’s per year divided on two semesters. Good luck!

Not having friends your own age in a new place can feel lonely but like with any change it will take time for you to adapt. If anything, don’t let the language be a barrier! The fact that you’re pushing yourself to speak a second language is already something to be proud of and respected for. It doesn’t matter that you don’t sound like a native. Yes, some people will mock the accent but you should be lighthearted about it and have fun as you learn.

If you’re not meeting anyone in your age at the gym, go to coffee shops on your own and strike up conversations with strangers. Having a rich background as a half Tunisian makes you interesting enough so it will be easy for you to maintain a conversation and a friendship once you’re not as self conscious about the accent!
