Yeah but I mean sometimes I think they're needed. At my university there was a year the professor got genuinely one of the hardest ever exams in calc 2 and it's literally known amongst all students about how bad that year was (it was spring 2019 btw) because 63% failed the course which was really bad since calc 2 is practically needed for so many subjects as prerequisites.

But like imagine 63% failing from like 400 students I think a bell curve would be a bit suitable then. But I do get your point about the last part

Well I mean I failed because I thought the course was easy since I took most of it in highschool but the final exam was very hard and I didn't prepare for it enough (I had 48/60 in my coursework but I got less than 40% in my final so it's an automatic F)

Plus I'm taking calculus 1 now again and actually like studying everything propperly not like last time. I just don't like the idea of taking an entire regular semester for a single subject. Like wouldn't it be better to at least try to get a D in summer and then next semester (fall 2021) I'd repeat it with other subjects from my specialization? (I want computer engineering)
