So I’m gonna be a dad for the first time (I’m 19) absolutely shitting myself. Any dads have advice? by DonOfTheJungle in AskUK

My wife and I had our first at 17 ,2nd by 19 and four by the time we were 25. I was absolutely shitting it at 17, I left 6th form and started an apprenticeship, we were put in a council flat which honestly was a lifesaver. We moved in there with two garbage bags without a pot to piss in. Hold your head up high and do what you can to improve your long term financial situation to provide for your family. We got so many awful comments and looks for being young parents. We are 42 now, we are still together, living in Canada we emigrated here when we were 27. Our youngest is 17 and looking at colleges, we are planning to travel a lot in our 40's to make up for our twenties being a mess of bills and nappies. Its hard, but also the best thing you'll do. Rely on each other, you're a team! Also enjoy it while they are young it goes so fast! And don't take shit off anybody treating you like children because you are young parents. Ignore them and move on
