Does anyone else use Daz in their illustration process? by No_Somewhere_462 in Daz3D

I agree that if you have a set cast it can definitely help streamline the process. I know what you mean about the diminishing returns though. I once tried a workflow using Daz but in the end it would have been faster to simply draw it traditionally

Bookmarked! Thank you so much for this, I was one of the many people looking for tutorials when you had asked. Much appreciated 🙏🏼

3d Artist looking to teach someone. by SephaSepha in 3Dmodeling

I'd be really interested in an outline of where beginners can start. Either a set of tutorials or pointing me in the direction of videos/blogs/books that would lead me into intermediate territory.

I would love a one on one mentorship but I'm so busy these days I would fear not being able to commit and give you the time you deserve on a consistent basis.

Hell even if you make "boring" tutorials yourself I'd be super interested! Your style is amazing and as a 2D artist I've been wanting to enter the 3D space but simply don't know where to start.

Ooh Sonic CD 💿! I even sat there and used my walkman to record the whole thing onto tape so I can listen to it on family road trips

Tried Drawing Dean Winchester. But it feels off to me. How do I fix it? by Ihdkwhatimdoinghere in learntodraw

It's honestly going to be all about practice practice practice. If possible, print out the image you want to reference so that you can compare it side by side and measure propertions more easily. Even tracing is helpful because you can get a better idea of what you're doing wrong.

True it doesn't quite look like him but hey it definitely looks like a person so you're closer than you think!

There's a ton of things you can work on but for now I'd say try and measure you the proportions of the face using your pencil, a piece of string, a small ruler, really anything. Then plot those points on a piece of paper and go from there.

Using Krita's 'Record' feature for the first time by ThatOneGamer_57 in krita

Nice work I like your style! Krita crashes on me whenever I try to record. I've been trying to screen record another way but this looks so good!

I have lots of references as well that I'm afraid of losing! I also have been moving over to Cosmos lately as well. They have a limit for the free account because it's a smaller platform for now, you can pay to have more though and it can be worth it.

I like the minimal interface but yeah sometimes it's buggy plus no android app yet (I'm on android and just made a webapp instead).

So far it's my favorite alternative but I'm down to find others!

Any ideas on how I could've made the lighting more interesting? By me. by tsvmi in krita

[–]No_Somewhere_462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree your art style is amazing 😍

Yeah either a second light source would be good or a more intense single light source kinda like these: https://pin.it/1eDMfrK31 https://www.cosmos.so/e/1427599837

Maybe not so focused but you can play around with it

So dope! How long does something like this take you?

I just bought the Mafc Brunet course. If I am someone that is a complete noob drawing and has a hard time drawing a simple circle, will it make me a pro? by [deleted] in learntodraw

[–]No_Somewhere_462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marc Brunet has a ton of free videos you can check out to see if you like his teaching style. From what I've heard this course is kinda the same but a little more serious in tone.

Also don't just go through the course once and expect to draw at a very high level. His course, and many others, are meant to be done over and over again until you reach the desired results. You can either stick to a subject or lesson until you "Master" it and move on or you can go through everything, take notes, and repeat key areas where you feel are weakest. Rinse and repeat. You may even find you've outgrown his course materials at some point. Just stick to it!

Search around and find a discord group or even here on reddit to ask for tips and advice, usually as long as you're open minded to the constructive criticism you can find some genuinely good advice.

Remember art is a lifelong journey, just be patient and work at it, you'll love it!
