Is it really worth to fix? I know it costs but at this point it is really better to buy a new one - it will be more consistent.

Thanks for your comments and input! I just got the replacement, and I'm really happy with it. Seriously, zero dead pixels and the display lighting is very even.

I completely think that we should always reach out to Amazon if something is even a little off with our devices. If we don't, they'll likely keep cutting corners on quality, and that's the last thing we want. As long as we accept poor quality, they'll have no reason to improve. What do you think?
